I came into this subway tonight an hour before closing to get the sub of the day which until the point has been tuna on Friday. My first problem was I told them I was getting the sub of the day and ordered tuna and no one told me they changed the days for sub of the day. But that was the smallest issue I had the real issue happened when the gentleman that was helping me who was awesome by the way called an employee named Tamara out to come and help. She seemed very upset that she had to come out and do her job. She was not nice and quite rude the entire time from when she first came out from back. The first real issue happened when In the middle of making my sandwich she got a online order and with the gloves still on she touched the screen on the register and some receipts that printed out and tried to go right back to making my sandwich with the same gloves. I kindly asked her to please change gloves before she touched my food again I know food safety and I know that is what she is supposed to do. But she had a terrible attitude after I asked her to practice food safety and not touch my food after touching a dirty register. As she proceeded to sloppily slap my sub together angrily i asked her if she had an issue with me asking her to do her job bc at this point she is just throwing stuff on my sub clearly irritated she then proceeded to tell me im being rude (which if me telling her the specifics on my sandwich and asking her to practice food safety in a cool calm voice makes me rude then I don’t know). After she had finished throwing my sandwich together I asked her name and she refused to tell it to me I eventually got it from the gentleman working with her. I am so disappointed in the service I received tonight and it will make me think twice about eating at subway because of how bad it was. I couldn’t even eat my sandwich when I got back home because it feels like it was made with hate.

I’ve ordered salads from Subway in the past—never has the meat and cheese been thrown on the top like this. These employees didn’t want to provide customer service, the store was unclean.

The young adults working were rent rude, but definitely didn’t greet anyone walking in the door. I had to request them to remove the slimy spinach off my sandwhich, which they seemed confused as why I didn’t want slimy spinach on my food. The restrooms were similar to an outhouse. I felt gross squatting over the toilet and their paper towels didn’t work. I’d stop at any other food location than this subway.

The store and staff were great. Food delicious. But as we were leaving I noticed a table & 2 chairs outside the door surrounded by cigarette butts. In previous visits I noticed staff sitting out there smoking which I don’t care but get them a butt can.

This Subway is definitely the best location I’ve ever been to in my 28 years of life. Every time I’m done eating I just stare off into the void. It’s so good & I can trust my sandwich to be made correctly when I order online. Someone please give this place a medal.

Normally this is my go to Subway between Portland/Surrounding areas and The Dalles. Im not sure what happened tonight, but it was a complete 180. We were there about 8 o clock to grab dinner before we headed home. We were there for at least 7 minutes and not one of the three employees working looked our way nor acknowledged us. There were two customers before us being helped, we waited patiently. In the mean time I went to the bathroom while my husband waited. When I came back another person had walked in and grabbed an online order, the other two customers were checked out and we were still standing there. The three employees still didn’t even look our way or say they would be with us as soon as someone was available.
Normally everytime we’ve come to this location everyone working is super friendly, says hello and someone will be with us shortly and were happy to wait.
SUPER DISAPPOINTED tonight. Im hoping everyone was just having an off day and this is a one time incident. . We will go back another day and try again. We actually ended up going to Fred Meyers to buy our own groceries to make subs because tonight was so off putting.
I dont feel like I should have to beg for service when I walked into somewhere. Especially if we still aren’t being acknowledged and we are the only people in the establishment. .
Whoever was working tonight 6/17/2025 around 8pm, it really matters to acknowledge people when they walk in. Just making eye contact and telling us that someone would be with us when they had a moment and I would have happily waited 15 minutes. I also understand that online orders usually come first.
