My husband walked in after a long day of travel to buy sandwiches for our family, at approximately 8:53 on 10/17/25, to order from Subway at this Road Ranger stop. Two guys were standing behind the counter with the entire counter cleaned up. One guy said, “Bro. We’re all closed up and we aren’t making any more food.” So I have some concerns around this. Why post closing hours for 9:00 when at 8:53 you have decided to be closed? Also, why would everything be cleaned up at 8:53? I can’t imagine when those two guys began cleaning…I will be posting this review to Google also, as it is important for travelers to understand that this pit stop to get food is not a reliable option and the workers apparently get to dictate when they will be closed for the day, even before their shift is over.

This is a nice place to grab a quick bite to eat. We were stopping to fill up with gas and it was nice to have an actual meal rather than just gas station eats. Just your typical subway, stop and have a sandwich while you’re traveling. We enjoyed our food and our experience.

Absolutely disgusted with the way some of the veggies looked. The tomatoes looked soggy and dry. The lettuce was brown. What happed to eat fresh? This subway needs some help. This is the Subway inside of Road Ranger on Riverside in Rockford Illinois.

I always grab lunch here since I work close by. Usually everything is great but today 1/22/25 I got very sick. This is the only thing I have eaten all day so I know this is the culprit. I already upchucked twice. Terrible stomach cramps. Unable to keep even water down.

Stood and waited for 10 minutes while my wife used the bathroom and gased up the car. Nobody took my order. The cashier of the gas station even said something to someone working in the back. I had to leave and go elsewhere.
