Disappointing Service at Pensacola Campus Subway

I had a very disappointing experience at the Subway on the Pensacola campus. I stopped by during my 30-minute lunch break on Monday, hoping to quickly grab something to eat. There was no line, yet I was told I had to place an online order instead of being served in person.

To make matters worse, the staff member behind the counter was engaged in a personal conversation with someone who works in cleaning, instead of focusing on customer service or preparing orders. It felt like my time and needs were completely disregarded.

This was frustrating and unprofessional. Students and staff with limited break time rely on this location for quick meals, and this kind of service makes that difficult.

I placed an online order at the wrong Subway location by mistake—100% my fault, and I fully acknowledged that. However, when I called to see if there was any way to cancel or void the order, the manager abruptly told me there was nothing she could do and then hung up on me. Since I had no way of getting a refund, I made arrangements to pick up the food from that location.

When I called back to let them know I was coming, the same manager was incredibly rude, constantly talking over me and not letting me get a word in. Then, out of nowhere, after previously saying there was nothing she could do, she suddenly offered the idea of a refund—only after I said I was coming to get the food. When I asked for the district manager’s number, she initially agreed, then immediately backtracked, saying, “Oh, never mind, you need to handle it yourself.”

The way she spoke to me was completely unprofessional—using condescending language like calling me “boo” and acting dismissive the entire time. After reading other reviews about this same manager, I honestly don’t understand how she’s still employed. She accused me of being rude, but if the phone call was recorded, I’d love for HR to listen and decide for themselves. This experience was beyond frustrating, and I won’t be returning to this location.

I’ve been to this Subway quite a bit and it’s surprisingly never been the food that left me feeling bad; it’s always the employees. Why does everyone who works here look like I’m placing a burden on their shoulders every time I walk in the door? I can understand bad days but every time?

I’ve been polite, said good morning, asked how their day has been and all I ever get is shrugs and eyerolls.

All I can say is this place needs better workers. I get more friendly and helpful conversation from the bookstore and maintenance crews.

THE BEST SUBS EVER!!!!!! The bread is always fresh the veggies and meats as well.. but that’s not all that keeps me coming back the service is top notch they are so friendly and kind other subways act like it’s to much to make a sub however I went multiple times to this exact location and after the 2nd time she knew exactly what I wanted (I don’t stray from what I like) did I mention the bread is ALWAYS fresh .. literally the only subway I will ever go to again … Plus for whatever reason the cookies taste better probably because they are always fresh as well

The employees at the location were talking badly about customers, throwing F bombs and all while I stood there waiting with no one else in line. When the girl acknowledged me she told the other guy to handle me.The people who are in charge of this place need to get a grip. The place is always without sandwich fixings and is always dirty. I feel it’s only getting business because its convenient inside a college.

They don’t deserve even one star Incredibly disrespectful. I pay for the food and go to this college. Three ladies (actually I don’t know what they are based off appearance) are so rude to everyone. Unfortunately the subway is the only restaurant on the campus. There are vending machines, but those three females in there are completely disrespectful to the students of Pensacola State College. I’ve held my tongue before writing this review but they have forced my hand with the way they treat people

The manager is rude and inconsiderate of her customers. She has no idea how to speak politely. I will never purchase anything again while she is working. She ignores customers while signaling her finger in the air for them to hush while she tells other employees to ignore customers. She has clearly never worked in food service before. Just because this is a college campus doesn’t not mean she can treat THE PEOPLE SPENDING MONEY like children.

This used to be a great Subway before the new owner took over. This location is now consistently inconsistent which is unfortunate since it is the only dining option on campus. They are always out of something and don’t even follow their own posted hours of operation. Now when I want Subway I go around the corner to the location on 9th Avenue.

I am a student and a worker for PSC. This is by far the worst Subway I have been to. They are constantly out of sandwich stuff, the bread is almost always old or burnt, and the location is dirty looking. Please address these issue and I guarantee this place will see more business.

I nominate this for “the” worst subway on the planet. I really feel bad for all students going here- the single solitary food choice is this horrible shop. Rude, ouo of tomatoes, seriously? out of tea, coke is broken. I ask for toasted, comes back melted cheese only untoasted bread. She cant even nicely ask you what toppings to choose and makes out like shes doing you a big favor complying with your choice. Nasty people. Deserves minus 10 stars.
