In the mood for a tasty sub sandwich served up at a friendly sub sandwich restaurant? If so, my recommendation would be to avoid the Subway located on North Madison Road in Orange, Virginia. I stopped going to this place a year or so ago because the food was consistently unimpressive for the price and the service was always reliably rude. The people who run this place really have an attitude like they couldn’t care less about your business. The last times I went there they had also stopped taking Subway coupons, which to me was unacceptable if they want my business. I suggest looking elsewhere for a good tasting sub sandwich and maybe at least a minimum of courteous service.

This is the worst subway I have ever been to. They literally do not care about customer service. They constantly get the order’s wrong when placing them online. The female owner’s are very argumentative and rude. They do not accept coupons when they are clearly mailed to me. I would highly recommend avoiding this subway and going somewhere else. I honestly have no idea how this place is in business with such bad customer service. Subway should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such rude owners in their franchise 0 out of 10.

Ordered online, and subs was not prepared as asked. I asked for double meat on my sub and I had recieved the normal amount of meat and was charged 2.50 basically for nothing. The Great Garlic sub didn’t even have bacon nor was it toasted like it was supposed to be. I WILL NOT order from here again. Will suggest the same to anyone else your better off ordering at some other Subway.

I’m sure most people know whether they like subway or not but I will have to say that the service here is a bit slow and uninviting. This is not one that will greet you as you walk in. They are also very greedy with the toppings, even if you say extra they will give you maybe one or two more. Unfortunately I don’t know if I’ll return based on the cleanliness of their utensils. The sandwich from the person in front of me has some sort of sauce and the worker dipped it in water and used the same knife on my sandwich without even wiping the knife off first and I saw the other persons sauce get wiped in my sandwich… that was unfortunate.

The vegetables were bad and they still tried to put them on my sub. I had to request that they take the tomatoes off and please use the items that didn’t have blackened seeds, which blows my mind. The spinach looked slimy in its bin, the lettuce was browned and the gent just really couldn’t care less about his business. He was more concerned about watching traffic over my shoulder than understanding my order. It appears that this is how it’s been at this particular location for at least the last year so obviously no changes to better the place have been made. My family and I won’t be going back. I’m just disappointed I hadn’t looked up the reviews first to avoid having gone at all.

I dont typically do this, however this was shocking. Pay 12 dollars for a steak and cheese sub… to have a sprinkle of cheese. Not worth the money.

I have only eaten here a few times because I dont live here, but pass through on occasion and love me a BMT. I would say 3 stars is about right, but that’s only because they are so convenient right off of rt. 15, that’s worth a star right there, and when I’ve been here, there is hardly anyone else here so the wait has not been bad. It can be DMV level time-suck at some Subways. I dont think there is another one in orange, so if you live here, its all you got.
I believe the low-star reviews. I do not believe the 5 star reviews. Some people throw those around like confetti. 5 stars is perfection, not just because the worker was nice that day.
My visit today is enough to remind me to be prepared to get food elsewhere when I pass through. I DO believe the owners may be unpleasant…not because I have interacted with them, but the employees never seem happy when I’ve been here. They are completely unmotivated and appear mostly untrained. I have literally had an ACTUAL 5 star experience at a Subway before, so it’s a management/employee thing for sure.
The other problem is they have kept all their COVID era plexiglass shields, so its hard to communicate with them over the counter. The guy today wouldn’t even make eye contact with me, so he couldn’t even see my lips move to help understand.
Today as the employee seemed to struggle with my request for 50% more meat (this is a menu line item at most subways I go to, its pretty clear that it is an up-charge) I began looking at the toppings. The spinach was rotten for lack of a better way to say it and the shredded lettuce looked like it had just been “overfilled” but was already turning brown. I like some spinach on my BMT but skipped any of the greens, it just didn’t look good. This is unacceptable and makes me concerned about the other ingredients that are hard to tell how long they have been stored.
The owner or manager was right there when I walked in. He was counting cash with the employee, probably to hold him accountable for the register, and for good reason, the guy was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. There is no way the owner did not see that bad spinach. A total lack of giving a rip.
I gave 3 stars because of the location, and you CAN get something “close” to a subway sandwich here, albeit substandard.
People mention they dont do the coupons and special offers here. I have encountered that in several locations. In all fairness, I dont know how they can survive at buy one get one free, but the Subway commercials are total bullsnot. It’s a bait and switch. I saw recently where they say “online only”…sorry, if I’m not standing there when they build the sandwich, they will not make it in the intentional layering I want. They just slap these things together to begin with…I want to see it being made, even during COVID.

After not going to this location for years because the service and sandwiches are so bad I gave it another shot. What a dumb thing to do. Not only has it gotten worse it’s gotten LOTS worse. Subway should be ashamed for allowing this location to remain open. The food was terrible and the churro thing was a tube of hard greasy dough with barely any cinnamon or sugar on it. We took a bite and threw it away. Our sandwiches… We actually had to come home and add toppings and condiments to them because they barely added any. The kicker was I’m pretty sure the owner was the one making them! Never ever again. Stay far away!

I have been eating in Subway for over 7 years and it’s always good. This particular store has a very relaxing stop and a nice view of the road. In this experience, the store wasn’t specially busy but with only one employee it took a while for my sub to get made. I didn’t mind it cause the lady was very kind and made it just how I wanted it. So I recommend it.
