I had no idea this place existed until I saw it on Tiktok, but I’m super glad I found out about it. They have some of if not the best fried fish I’ve ever had. The coleslaw, fries, and marinated onions were great too. Get the rye bread, since apparently that’s what everyone else gets (And everyone is right; rye bread is the correct choice.) They have a great system here and it shows.
Service was very friendly, especially considering how many people where there. It IS busy, so if you want to eat inside, be prepared to dodge people.
The only suggestion our group had is to include malt vinegar at some point at the sauce station.

No frills here. Just fish, fries and cole slaw. The fish dinner features a generous amount of fish (two pieces, green river style) and fries, with a side of cole slaw, all for $12.99. This was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Recommended!

Ok, I have found my favorite fish ever. Words can not describe how delicious the fish is; it’s just that good! The first-time visit was on 5/13/23, and I’m ready to return. The service is quick, the employees are extraordinary, and have I mentioned how delicious the fish is? Oh, and the fries are pretty good, too, quite possibly the best as well. If you like fried fish, this is the place to go!

A favorite of my father’s during 1960s, it was always a Saturday afternoon treat when he brought this green river style fried fish home, and the fish offered by the Masonic Suburban Lodge remains a most delicious offering of fried fish, especially when their diced onions are added. The Lodge’s fish is among my favorite foods. When eating it I actually close my eyes and whisper a prayer of gratitude for the food itself and especially the uniquely extraordinary flavor and taste! Perhaps limited availability and offering enhances the pleasure in taste, or cherished memories of my youth and family, or maybe it’s simply the great recipe and preparation and cooking office …whatever it is, this fish is my favorite anywhere! I typically get mine to go, but dining in is an option and it’s simple tables and chairs with lively conversation among people happy and thoroughly enjoying their food! Also, while ordering, you’ll be treated to witness the bonus scene of lodge brothers cheerfully working hard together to prepare, cook and offer the fish and side items.

Man let me tell you. Every year Im sad when they close for the season. And we get excited to see the first Saturday in March. Why u ask well that’s when Suburban Fish Fry returns from hibernation to cook up their golden cod. And it is the beast fish fry in Louisville bar none. My wife used to come here and get fish with her grandma and now years later we are carrying on the tradition. If you are in the mood for fish on a Saturday look no further than Suburban Fish Fry in Louisville KY. I got mine this past Saturday all 8 lbs of it. Now what are you waiting for, go and get you some this Saturday.

Oh man where to start… Well I’ve been coming here since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. My grandmother used to take me here when I was little, I’ve taken my kids here and now I’m taking my grandchildren. Fish is always really good and I get here every chance that I can. For fried fish this is the best fish hands down in the entire city of Louisville. You can only get it on Saturdays and you better get there early. I always get the sweet onions to go on top of my fish which really makes it great. Everyone that works here is a volunteer and always has a really good attitude. It’s kind of expensive so expect to pay about $15 per person. Fish is sold by the pound ($17lb as of this review)

After their opening day last Saturday was shut down due to a power outage from the recent storms, everyone showed up this Saturday for opening day 2023. When I say everyone, I mean everyone! The traffic was stopped on Third St waiting for an opening in the parking lot. Once I got inside it was packed wall-to-wall. But to their credit, the staff moved efficiently and within 20 minutes I had moved through the line and got my fish, fries, cole slaw and marinaded onions. I found out later that they sold out all 2000 lbs of cod in 4 1/2 hours. Congrats on a fine opening day!
