Pretty good bar/pub, nestled right on the edge of north augusta towards augusta. It gets pretty busy and karaoke there is pretty fun on Saturdays. Since bars in Augusta cannot serve on Sunday and in South Carolina they can; this is one of the only bars open in the area that doesn’t require a drive to Aiken. And the food is pretty good too!

Meh…it’s worth a try, but I won’t be back. Was first & last time in here. They pulled a good Guinness & given I lived in the UK for several years & Dublin was 2hrs by fast ferry…I think I’m a decent judge of character regarding a British pub. The kitchen was pretty much down. Brats & potato chips… if they had a menu, it wasn’t shared. Returned our glasses thinking one more… but was quickly dismissed by the bartender, & what seemed to be a regular said: “It helps if they know you, & they don’t know you”….ummm huh. So, if they don’t know you, I guess expect bad customer service?? Lol like I said, it’s worth a try…maybe you’ll have better luck then we did. Shrug

My friend and I walked in and made instant friends with folks at the bar. The bartender was great. I wish I didn’t live so far or I would be there all the time. Well, maybe that’s a good thing.

Karaoke night is one of the best times to come up here, beers aren’t expensive and they are so welcoming of the LGBTQ+ community I loved it in here

So disappointed with the 421 Karaoke. Said they would be open until 2:00, done at 1:10. Spent more than 3 hours and only got to sing 1 song, while others sang 4 to 5 songs. Definitely favor their local friends. Don’t stop in if your from out of town. Spent $60 at the bar. Very disappointing.

Bartender sarah, thinks she can speak to paying customers however she wants. I don’t know how or where she was raised, but where I come from you don’t speak to people just any type of way, especially if those people pay your salary with tips.

I chose several songs on the juke box and then they turned it off. So there goes all of the money I spent on songs… I left $0 for the bartenders and will do so for the next 4 visits, not sorry 🙂

First time ever going to the Highlander and I loved it! The atmosphere is very inviting, the low ceiling, neon lights, large fireplace, etc makes for a welcoming environment. The bartender was extremely kind and made us feel welcome. The brews were well poured and $5 a pop. A refreshing price for some of the previous breweries we have been to in the downtown Augusta area. I would love to go back, and would recommend the Highlander for a relaxing time with some good brews.

We came for dinner, having read about the shepherd’s pie. The bartender ignored my date and I, not even looking at us. Strange locals. Table had sticky residue. Not sure if the owner realizes how bad the bartender is ruining business. Left after 1 drink, and recovered my credit card held hostage. This sucks because I live nearby and wanted to like this bar. Clearly, they are only catering to a weird, shrinking crowd. Better beer selection and better prices at several other locations. What a disappointment.

I was in town and was looking for a good gastropub. The place is below street level. The bar was filled with regulars. The people were friendly. Bartender didn’t pay much attention to me compared to the regulars. Food was limited to a shepards pie (no menu – that’s what the bartender said) which was good. Prices are excellent. Not sure you go for a meal here but if you want a beer and chat with the locals, this is the place for you.
