Deserves better than its current rating. Prime brisket was juicy and fantastic. Jalapeño sausage gave the meal some heat. Pulled pork was solid. Mac and cheese had a great breadcrumb crust. Employee recommended the fries too so snagged those and wasn’t disappointed. Tough to say anything bad about it. Music and vibes inside were right up my alley too. Would recommend!

Recently ordered smoked turkey and brisket along with sides for Thanksgiving and everything heated up wonderfully and was very delicious! The smoked turkey was moist and flavorful and better than turkey we would normally make ourselves. Decided to go in on a weekend for lunch and had the wagyu brisket and it was AMAZING! The staff is also very friendly and attentive. Definitely returning!

Had a wonderful lunch here with family, including our 6-year-old. The service was attentive and friendly. Most dishes were generously portioned and reasonably priced. The mac and cheese was a hit with our child, and the smoked chicken was tender and flavorful. The sides, especially the slaw and cornbread, were fantastic and clearly made fresh. The only hiccup was the brisket – while tasty, the portion size felt small for the price tag compared to other items on the menu. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and casual enough for families while still maintaining an upscale feel. Would definitely return, though I might skip the brisket next time. Perfect spot for lunch and dinner family meals.

Stopped by for lunch. Place was clean and looked great. Great customer service.Ordered the meat tray with the daily special waygu brisket, ribs, and jalapeño sausage but was really disappointed. The brisket was really dry and the texture was closer to jerky then brisket. The ribs and sausage were good but for a BBQ place I’d hope they’d focus on the quality of brisket especially since they’re charging extra for the wagyu.

It was just ok. I expected greatness being in the Great American chain. I’ll have to back again since I went an hour or so before closing. They were out of a few things so I’ll give them the benefit of doubt. I just hope it’s better next time.

A few of us stopped in for lunch to give this place, the most recent Great American Restaurant our first try. GAR restaurants are solid and know for their excellent customer service and their interesting menus, which they execute nearly perfectly every time. Operating a smokehouse isn’t the same, as it takes a special type of chef to be a pitmaster and most “chefs” aren’t pitmasters. That being said, I figured it would be tough for chain, even a local chain which is excellent to do a smokehouse.

The majority of the reviews and comments in local foodie groups I reviewed weren’t too positive about this place, but I needed to try it for myself. I got a sampling of proteins; prime brisket, turkey, ribs, and sausage. The brisket was easily the best – nice crust and smoke, while being tender. The next up were the ribs, as they were tender and nicely smoked. But the sausage was pretty bad, tasted too much like raw pork with a tough casing and hardly any smoke. Then the turkey was the worst… one person in my group said it had the taste and texture of the turkey you get in a Lunchable and as soon as he said that, it was immediately what I thought of, as it reminded me of the same thing. Really wasn’t good at all.

When it came to the sides, they were decent, with the beans being the best and the mac & cheese next up. The potatoes in the potato salad were too hard, not al dente, but harder. The cornbread was excellent though.

Overall, the service and venue were nice, but the meat was too inconsistent. I can see why this place gets the no-so-good reviews it does. I won’t be back.

Ordered a 3 meat plate in order to get a taste for most of the food, have not tried everything from the menu yet but, in my choice of 3 meat the only thing that was good in taste for me was the sliced Angus. Got a bunch of Cornbread, which was nice as it wasn’t dry. Paid $30 and I wasn’t full until I ate all that cornbread but if I didn’t I’m not sure I would have been satisfied.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the new BBQ establishment by the Great American Restaurants in the bustling Concord Shopping Center in Springfield. The food was enjoyable; the meats were expertly grilled, tender, and perfectly seasoned. I particularly appreciated the homemade pickles, which offered a delightful crunch, balanced sweetness, and vinegary tang. The spare ribs and pulled meats were delicious, and I found the fresh salad a nice complement. The bread pudding and pecan pie served with ice cream were delightful, leaving me satisfied.

However, I would suggest some areas where improvements could be made, particularly regarding the ordering process. Customers seemed to be experiencing some uncertainty as they approached the counter, which caused delays. A clear and easily visible ordering process, perhaps displayed on a board, could enhance the experience for everyone.

To enhance the dining experience, it might be beneficial to provide guests with a restaurant beeper or pager instead of having staff call out names when food is ready. This approach can be efficient in a busy and noisy restaurant environment, ensuring guests won’t miss their order being called.

I did notice that staff members were actively maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, which was commendable.

Overall, it was a positive experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

I’ve been to several BBQ joints in nova and this one hasn’t failed me yet. They have the best brisket I’ve tried in the area. They also have great cornbread chili and collards. But they also have excellent service. If i order online or at the counter they always have the order right and the food is great.

Had a fantastic time here! Like every Great American establishment, the service was impeccable. The smashed baked potato was a delight to see – I’m going to try doing it at home now. I was really pleased with my brisket and think it’s the best I’ve had outside of Texas. The bread pudding was divine.
