Pleasantly surprised! I’ve drove by this place for years and always thought it as mainly a bar. While they do have festive holiday drinks each season, they also have a great menu of smoked meats and yummy sides to go with! Their mac and cheese is by far my favorite compared to any other restaurant I’ve been to! And their unique holiday drinks were so fun and creative it was hard to choose which one to get!

Wow!! This place was phenomenal…super friendly staff, clean, incredible food/portions, spacious and just beautifully decorated. I loved it here as did my almost 5 year old son who loves cars plus they had a car show also. I would totally recommend to anyone to at least try it out one time but I’m definitely going back with friend’s and family. We met the Owner super nice guy!! The Atmosphere here was exceptionally friendly people, fun, and super neat place hands down from upstairs area to lower level and then plenty of space to eat outside or just chill.

Very nice bar right off the fox river, chain of lake area ,they have a restaurant attached to the bar that serves very good food all the locals go there , so it’s got to be good. They had a great car show while we were there lots of custom cars , rat rods , pro street , you name it was there. While we were there we had a couple cold drinks and a bucket of bacon ,fantastic what more could you want . Nice time had by all .

The BBQ wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was really good. Brisket was smoky and the rib tips had a nice flavor. Cole slaw was diced really small. The baked beans were very good. Macaroni & Cheese was not your typical southern-style but tasty and cheesy nonetheless. Didn’t care much for the banana pudding they serve with each platter. The atmosphere is cool and they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, Bible verses can be seen throughout the place, which I think is awesome! Definitely give them a try. You just might walk out a believer!

Was definitely not a hit, this was our first time going here to studio hotrods smokehouse. First issue was the fact that they were not busy at all maybe 3 or 4 tables and we had to wait for a table to be cleaned off, and it didn’t look like anyone was going to attempt to do it until we finally asked them to sit.
The food i ordered came and was a very small portion definitely not even close to a half of pound of meat. And the meat I actually wanted which was pulled pork they were out of stock.
The waitresses was pretty bad as well, sure she was a nice lady but just not cut out for a server, all of our drinks sat empty the entire night and we never got the waters we asked for or the refill that we requested. It’s not like we are asking for much just normal basic things you would get at a restaurant.
$70 for 3 people to eat almost nothing, we all left there hungry and feeling like we just wasted our money.
Also if your gonna say that a meal comes with a side of coleslaw, fist give us some actual coleslaw not just dry cabbage and 2nd give us a side of it not a pinch of it in a small cup the size of the Dixie cup I would use while brushing my teeth

What an awesome place. Very well laid out. As you enter you can view three Hotrods on display in the front window. I did not get to see the restaurant area due to COVID restrictions but did sit in the rooftop patio area, very nice! Service was good as was the food

Good food. Good prices. Helpful friendly staff. Variety of things on the menu sure to please anyone in your group. Husband had the steak sandwich with fries. I had the Saturday special – RIBS! I wasn’t disappointed. They were done just right. We also had the spinach and artichoke dip. While it was delicious the chips were stale. I got chips with my ribs. The chips were perfect with my dip. I’m glad I was tracking our drive. Otherwise we would have missed it.

After seeing raving reviews we decided to order takeout. We ordered a Lone Ranger with ribs, baked potato (sour cream and butter) and Mac and cheese. We also ordered the quadruple bypass (1/2 pound each of ribs, brisket, burnt ends and sausage) which according to their menu feeds four, with four sides (mac and cheese, coleslaw, cowboy caviar, and potato salad). When I asked for baked potato with butter and sour cream only, I was told very quickly “that’s what we put on it”.
We were given three bags, entire contents in photo. Potato with no butter or sour cream and missing a mac and cheese side.
I don’t leave poor reviews, but I was completely shocked to spend $80.00 – well $90.00 (with tip) and receive such small portions of food. Sadly, the flavor did not make up for it.

You guys realize you’re in Fox Lake not Lake Tahoe right? Shame on you. The food is fantastic, I’ll give ya that. $30 however for that sad little plate of food is absurd. I get that good bbq takes time to smoke, but $10 a rib at lunch none the less is obscene. On what planet does a slab of ribs cost $120? Evidently at planet Smokehouse. They’ve got you covered. Their prices are out of this world. Gordon Ramsey himself would have a hard time pulling off a $120 slab of ribs.
In summary; if you wanna drop some serious coin and leave hungry prepare to have your expectations exceeded.
And I cannot state enough shame on you guys 90210 prices in a 60020 zip code.
