Came in this evening with my dad, staff were polite and relatively attentive- slightly late on the check back. Had chicken wings to start; these were slightly disappointing as quite small and sauce was too overpowering. steak and lattice fries were however delicious. atmosphere was nice but there was a draft that did make the food go cold quite fast, would definitely recommend bringing a jumper. sadly, the drinks really let this place down. we asked for a coca-cola and recieved cans that were £2.75 each! i’m sorry but £2.75 CAN of coke is ridiculous. Otherwise, would recommend to a friend.

Wow! The Steak was amazing. We had the steak and fries and the small one steak wrap, absolutely mouth watering! Steak was beautifully tender and the wraps with the fries in, great stuff, it works.
Lovely staff and vibe. Seating indoors and outdoors, lovely view over looking the docks.
Would highly recommend. We will be back! Dog friendly outdoors.

We went on Saturday at lunch time, it wasn’t too busy inside. We had the chicken wrap which tasted fantastic. Service was quick and polite. The portion was great for a larger lunch and the price was reasonable for the size

We tried the signature dish and the chicken breast, and both were incredibly juicy and cooked to perfection. The chips were absolutely delicious too – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Everything was full of flavour and beautifully presented. We’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food.

I’ve always enjoyed dining at Strip Steak Bar, but after my recent visit, I’m seriously reconsidering. The portion sizes have been drastically reduced, and I couldn’t help but notice the change. When I asked the waiter about it, his response was dismissive at best. I was told, “Yeah, we’ve changed them,” but when I asked why, he simply said, “I don’t know,” and walked off—no apology, no attempt to explain, and certainly no effort to resolve my concern.
As a long-time customer, I expect better—not just in terms of food quality but also in service. It’s incredibly frustrating to be treated with such indifference. I really hope this was just an off day for the staff, but unfortunately, I won’t be rushing back until I see improvements in both the portion sizes and customer service.
Below I have attached the photo from my visit in July and today’s most recent visit, to show the comparison of portion sizes!

We walked in as not having booked, was shown a table by the window which was great for people watching lol
Friendly staff who couldn’t do enough, order taken in a reasonable time to look at menus and drinks.
Food when ordered was cooked in an open kitchen and piping hot when it came out. Staff attentive and friendly

Here’s the problem…. Generally the food was good just not much too it. I doubled up on the fries so we could share some as it didn’t come with the wrap. Instead the fries was inside the wrap to pad it out to make it look like a “big one”. I’d say the steak was about 4oz (which is probably why they don’t say how big it is) hardly “Main Event” – it’s been sliced and laid out to spread out and look bigger. Definitely photos from after opening the steak looked loads bigger. Chicken wings full of flavour but had hardly any chicken on them. Then the “fries” tasted like supermarket criss cross oven fries.
Drinks came in cans. Each to there own but if we went for an alcoholic beverage your looking at £5.75 (Non branded house lager – could be anything) to £6.85 (Guinness) a pint.
Compared with quantity and price this is towards the higher end locally (even for the Quays). Then when the service you receive is “scan the QR” to order then this isn’t great. Be careful if you do order via QR as the ordering system suggests a 12.5% tip? So I’ve got to order myself for some canned drinks so paying 12.5% for someone to bring the food to us? Also we didn’t have a check back – this was during a very quiet time, think we were the only diners in?
The food cost us:
Angus Steak “Main Event” (with double fries – £3.50 extra) £22.00
Chicken Strip steak “Big One” £16
Chicken Wings £9.50
One for tourists – who will eat and leave without reviewing. As for us as locals we won’t be rushing back. Sorry but lots of places locally giving better value for money and quality.
