The service itself was great! Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, and she never let my Diet Coke become empty. When I asked for a third loaf of bread, she didn’t look at me like I’m insane. (All the things I appreciate with my server!)
However… The Alfredo sauce didn’t taste homemade or fresh and left something to be desired, and the lasagna just didn’t taste right. It was bitter and confusing. It could have been an off night, but it turned us off a little bit. It isn’t cheap to eat here, for two entrees and one Diet Coke, we spent $63, so it just didn’t feel like we ate $63 Alfredo or lasagna.
But again, it could have been an off night. The waitress was amazing, so if you do go, you’ll be treated so dang well. And I want to emphasize that because the quality of the food isn’t on the server, but the server does account for most of your dining experience. And she was wonderful.

My wife and I stopped by String Italian café in Carmichael for breakfast.
I ordered the green chilaquiles – honestly some of the best chilaquiles I’ve had anywhere, very homemade, tortillas were crispy, just like mom’s. Perfect balance of spice, crunch, and flavor.
My wife had the stuffed French toast with strawberries on top, super delicious without being too heavy.
Service was fast, friendly, and the place has that cozy neighborhood vibe that makes you want to come back.
Definitely a new favorite place for us. Highly recommend!

My family has been coming to Strings for many years, at multiple locations. Their food has always been amazing, their bread and soup that comes with your meal is delicious and everytime I have a hard time trying to decide if I should order my favorite dishes or try something new (which always turns out well)!

Used to eat at Strings long ago and then they were gone (I thought). Imagine my surprise a few weeks ago when I found a lone ‘Strings’ just off of Manzanita @Cypress. I had to drop in and see how it was.
I am very happy to report a very positive experience. The food and service were very good. The classic Italian recipes that are well prepared and very tasty.
This place should be busier – very good food and it’s even open for breakfast.

For the positives the waiter was really nice she let us take our time cuz we couldn’t decide what we wanted. The fresh bread was delicious and it was still warm when she brought it to us. The Caesar salad were great, my boyfriend had the apricot Peach pork dish and the pork and apricots were really good he didn’t like the asparagus or mashed potatoes too much. For the Negatives, I was just expecting a little bit more flavor out of my lasagna and pasta and also the lobster mac and cheese but it was pretty decent. I also had the apple pie bread pudding and that was amazingly delicious. I must say I’ve never had Apple pie bread pudding before but what they had was great!

Over all for the end we paid $48 with tip $55 . It’s good for a little lunch soup and salad and the angel hair pasta and a couple of soda’s It was good 1 – 10..10 being the best 7 no appetizer menu and the whole reason I when in there was for the appetizer menu of the artichoke that was on the menu before

We wanted this place to be good so badly. The service was decent, spend like 70$ for three people. One of the chicken cutlets was inedible (chewy and old). Pork was WAY overcooked, good glaze but barley any. Veggies badly cooked. Tiny portions. One of the soups tasted as if it had gone bad (completely inedible). It’s not even worth complaining at this point. These restaurants know their food is low quality and small portions with the same pricing as any other restaurant. We still tried it because some of the reviews were decent but it’s was a complete waste of money. Not even half as good as olive garden and that’s saying a lot. How can a small, Italian restaurant have such low concern for quality of their food? Absolutely now way they stay in business much longer without drastic changes. Unhealthy panda express would be better than this low quality, uninspired, fake Italian scrap. We thought about calling and complaining but I’d rather save whoever is reading this the time, money, and diarrhea. No joke!

I ordered a chicken parm. OMG it was the most taste less pasta dish I have ever had…the chicken was fried to dark almost burnt it was dry and barely any marinara sauce on it with a little cheese melted on it..it look like a reheat i could be wrong..the pasta was surely boil without salt because it had absolutely no taste 🙁 i was disturbed and disappointed i excepted better from them I ate there already and it was good..Hmmm I bought it to go only open it when I got home..Strings please tell your chef to do better for people money…Totally disgusted with your food 🙁 someone who cannot cook, can’t spoil a pasta dish…OMG…

We love the food but they have changed the recipe for the Pasta Siena and it’s not good anymore. They should change it back. There is a spice in it now that’s too strong. Please change it back.
