Holcomb should say “Home of Strawberry’s”!
It’s a diamond-in-the-rough of a restaurant with great food, big portions, and fair prices. People should be flocking here.
My second time here, and it’s better than I remember!
I ordered the BBQ Plate Sampler with fries and onion rings, and Broccoli Cheese Poppers as an appetizer. Knocked my socks off again!
I could only eat half, and took the rest home.
You get a couple of rooms to choose from to be seated at: one side is like a traditional diner, and the other is a lounge-type that has a bar and pool tables.
It was a delight to dine-in at Strawberry’s again; I hope to be back sooner than later!

I’ve heard about this place for years and finally went today. My husband, daughter and I, before dinner rush on a Saturday afternoon. A few tables sitting, not busy.
Daughter enjoyed her chicken strips and fries. My BBQ sandwich basket was just not very good. The meat had been warmed and was beyond dry, the beans weren’t quite warm and very bland. I added sauce to both. Husband had the center cut pork steak. Looked amazing. Tasted blah. Cool to the touch, very dry, also tasted reheated. Scallop potatoes were cold and with no texture, just mashed potato consistency.
We never could figure out who our server was. 1 seated us, another hour drinks but couldn’t tell us how many chicken strips were on a child plate. Another took our order, another brought out our food…. No one came by to ask…
Better BBQ much closer to home! Better service just about anywhere! We’re not picky people, it just wasn’t good.

Unfortunately I was disappointed this visit. It has been a couple of years since Ive been able to go. The food used to spectacular. It was subpar at best this time. The only thing that was worth eating was the hamburger my son got as well as the appetizers and sides. They’ve always been known for their porksteaks which is my go-to. It used to come wrapped in aluminum foil still sitting in its juices. Now it comes unwrapped, dried out and room temperature. As for the chopped bbq plate my wife got, and the bbq nachos my daughter ordered. The meat was dried out and Luke warm, maybe. The server we had was terrible. The lady at the next table got up and refilled all their drinks and even refilled my kids glasses because our server was totally oblivious to her job. I used to highly brag on this place. But now… that was a waste of $100…

Good barbecue and great service at a reasonable price! I had the barbecue sample platter which was a nice way to try three different meats, two sides, and Texas toast. The ribs were by far my favorite. The baked beans weren’t anything too special in my opinion but the scalloped potatoes were amazing! The seasoning on the meat was quite good but I liked that they have three different barbecue sauces on the table too in case you want them.

It was hard not to just let ourselves inhale the pork steak! It was that good. The pork easily fell apart with a fork and had an excellent bite. My husband liked the sweet sauce and thought it had molasses in it. I mixed the tangy mild sauce with the sweet for a savory flavor. The sides were okay. It was a different BBQ experience since we have never had two-inch thick pork steak before. It was a treat!

Updated Review: Don’t make it here much but only when in the area. I’ve been here a handful of times since 2005 or so and it is always the same as in being great and consistent. Service is great, staff are great, and food is always top notch. Prices blow most (if not all) BBQ places out of the water, especially for how well known Strawberry’s is and how famous their pork steaks are. $15 for a massive perfect pork steak that needs no knife with 2 sides and Texas toast. $6 appetizers. Keep doing what you’re doing Strawberry’s!

Great Bbq. I loved the Cardinal memorabilia and the same pool tables I played on in high school. I had the ribs and bought sauce to take home. I’ll be back.

Strawberries is your ultimate dive experience with great food, well stocked bar and good service. I’ve been using the seasoning for years and this was my first time to visit and it did not disappoint! If you go make sure you order the pork steak or the ribs cuz they use a liberal amount of Strawberry’s seasoning on it and it is oh so good.

Strawberry’s BBQ is well liked where I’m from. I thought the food was good. The service was good. My biggest problem is that there is a big difference in quality when it comes to the food made in-house vs store bought. For example, the BBQ nachos have delicious BBQ meat, but the cheese sauce is your average nacho cheese that could come from anywhere. If you go here, get the house originals!
