Actually pleasantly surprised with this pizza. Service was friendly and quick and the pizza was great. Crust is not too thin and crispy so it’s a little thicker than NY style but it’s great as it is.

Don’t bother ordering gluten free if it’s even remotely busy or your order won’t be put in the oven until the last non gluten order is complete. Waited over 1.5 hours for one pizza, went in the oven after the “rush” was over. I totally respect trying to help out the gluten free folk, but don’t offer if you can’t deliver what you guarantee. In all fairness, orders should be cooked in order of placement. This place does cook an awesome gluten free crust though, if you can wait and when they have them made!

Its really the only thing even worth calling a pizza on at the island. Do i crave this pizza? You bet i do. Can the service/kitchen be improved? Yes, but short of flying 4100 miles, this is where it’s at. You might wait a while here. They might get your order wrong the first time, hell maybe the second time, but that small kitchen turns out a pizza every 5 min or so and the servers/cashiers are super friendly. In general, the staff is awesome. The food is great. If you’re an impatient mainlander, dont go here. As for me, i drive an hour to eat this pie and its bloody well worth it.

I went their with my family of four, it is very small and very hot and uncomfortable. The wait time was very long and when we got he pizza it was not what I was expecting. the sauce was very oily and cheese slipped off the pizza as soon as you picked it up. The dough was a little thin and flimsy but the employees were nice had a smile, but they did forget to bring us our garlic knots and sauce. I usually don’t post negative reviews and feel bad but I feel this needs to be said.

The gluten free pizza is very good. They clean the oven before it fires to ensure there is no cross contamination. Be sure to give more time due to this, we add ten minutes to the estimate they give over the phone. Sometimes it is enough, but other times we wait longer.

Shockingly good New York style pizza for Puna, but wow is the service unreliable. More often than not we wait over an hour, or twice the time they quote for slices or a pie. The staff is usually very apologetic and nice, but we have had one person be rude when we questioned an hour wait for a pizza that was totally underdone. However, when it is good, it is great (as good as any I’ve had on the west coast).. especially considering the location and other restaraunts available.

Was really excited to have a New York experience. Wasn’t treated with respect by the woman inside. The crust was burnt and for $30.00 for a two meat pizza plus mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and olives…. we’re still looking for the vegetables…sliced so thin an almost undetectable….a big disappointment. When we came in to get our “take out order” the woman told my husband to feel free to leave a tip….what for ….no service! Not served with Aloha. Not a good value for the cost.

The first couple of times I went here the pizza was quite good. But over time they seem to never have the toppings I want available( last three visits). And my last order was the most sparsely topped pizza I’ve ever seen. I was disappointed to pay $26 for a pizza with barely any toppings or even cheese to speak of. There are two pizza places in Pahoa and neither really deliver a quality pizza. Too bad. I think someone could open a third pizza place in this postage stamp sized town and still do well since the other two pizza joints are so mediocre.
