I feel lied to. I ordered the kaiju roll with the expectation of having a nice piece of seared salmon on top. And guess what there was lacking in the entire roll. Salmon.
The server explained that the seared salmon was actually flaked salmon seared on top of the roll.
Would definitely recommend not ordering this.

My recent dining experience at the the Strange Beast was very pleasant. The bartender and serving staff were very helpful and personable. 5 star! I ordered the spicy tuna roll. It had some ingredient in the rolls that was not easy to eat. I’m not sure what it was, but the roll would’ve been much more enjoyable to eat with julienned cucumber instead. The price of the roll was ridiculous. $17? Not worth it at all. I won’t be going back.

Went downtown wanting sushi, never tried strange beast before so decided to go in. we were quickly greeted by “adam” and told to choose anywhere to sit, the table we wanted was being cleaned then we promptly sat down. it took a few minutes for someone to get back to us to take our order but it gave us enough time to decide what we wanted. We ordered a spicy tuna hand roll, a crab hand roll, the pork gyoza, a pork chatsu onigiri and a salmon onigiri. overall all of the food was AMAZING, boyfriend was a little sad they didn’t have fountain soda but we were given a carafe of water and glasses to go with our meal. The dishes took a little while to come out because they were making fresh rice, the quality of the sushi we got tonight was honestly unbeatable. our waitress susie was overly apologetic over our onigiri taking a few more minutes than the rest of our food and took it off of our bill without us asking which i thought was very initiative of her and responsible. we checked out and left a tip for susie since she was super cool. if you want great sushi and a trendy bar to hangout in, strange beast is the place to be.

What a great place to hang out eat , and drink shots of saki !! Great background music and comfy chairs !!!! Food was great !!!!! Service was to the tea. Prices are a little high , 2 beers one sushi roll 45$ be prepared to spend $$$.
