I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed a sub from Storto’s coz honestly, I’m not a huge fan for sandwiches. One thing that stood out to me was the freshness of the veggies, how crunchy and juicy their lettuce was. The roast beef was good, and the papaya seed dressing which was what’s recommended by the cashier also went really well with the whole thing. Also love the sprouts, adding an extra layer of flavor to the experience. Every bite of my sandwich was something to savor!
I got the 8″ thinking I would save the other half for dinner. After finishing my first 4″, I still wanted for more so I was thinking, ok maybe 2 more inch. And after that I was like what da heck let me just finish it otherwise the thing will turn soggy. So yeah, completely amazed by how I could down the whole sub…
Their special is available on their regular menu as well so it isn’t some special flavor they got. It is 50 cents cheaper though, making that a true special while a lot of restaurants have the most expensive item as their special.
Friendly staff. It’s my first time there thinking ordering a special wouldn’t require a slip but I did need one to choose my sauce and veg. And then me also blocking others trying to get a slip… oops sorry. The cashier kindly asked me to scoot further down. She also recommended what dressing I should get. Doh, after reading the reviews the choice was obvious then – papaya seed dressing it is.
Most of the time crowded. Try going there early to beat the crowd. I remember seeing 11am as their opening time at the door.

First of all, this pic is half of my “half” after it had been squished in my backpack and thrown in the fridge- still held up well and tasted yummy later on it’s hard to tell from the photo but woooo boy there was so much meat on this thing. I went with my lunch crew and we all got half sandwiches (8 inches) and could only finish half of that!
Service was very kind and patient (lots of options!). I liked that the point of sale system doesn’t ask for a tip.
The only downside is that it tends to get crowded so order if you aren’t stressed about making it back to work for a meeting.
Oh! And definitely get the papaya dressing

If you’re ready for an incredible sandwich, please look no further. I call in, Hangry as hell, and they’re always so kind to remind me that it’s not called the Adam Sando – (but the Turkey Bacon Avocado, with the Papaya seed dressing) and boy is it an incredible way to fulfill that hunger. This one, more so than the other locations, you will find the kindest people and the owner is too sweet. Thank you as always!

Very delicious cold cut sandwiches. A must try! Note that this is a takeout spot. Not a sit and dine type of establishment.

Small little sandwich shop located in downtown Honolulu. My sandwich was super fresh and tasted really good. Very clean with no indoor/outdoor seating. For half a sandwich you get a pretty decent amount of food. The sandwich in itself is a meal on its own. Veggies are crisp and fresh as well. They recently raised their prices due to inflation so that’s kind of a bummer but really, the quality of food makes it worth it. Will visit again.

5 stars without a doubt! I look forward to their sandwiches every day I’m in the office. They’re healthy, delicious, and the signature sauce is unforgettable. Lyn, the owner, is such a joy to be around and even takes time to help feed those in need. Truly blessed to have people like her in our community. Mahalo, Lyn!

I was super excited to finally get a sub from Storto’s—I heard a lot about it and the north shore deli is always packed. I figured their food had to be awesome; however, I was extremely disappointed. I’m an NY’er and know good quality meats and bread. I realized I was probably not going to get a NY/NJ quality sub, which I was fine with, but this wasn’t even close. Pricey for a half (very small) size, a small amount of meat, and the flavor was just not there. Also, oil & vinegar should not mean balsamic vinegar—I’m sorry to say, but I’ve had better subs at Subway or Jersey Mikes. The good thing about this spot—the staff was very friendly. Locals may love it, but for me, the search for a good-quality sub on the islands continues.

better than subway! location is on the heart of downtown Honolulu so its a great place to go for lunch. hours are only from 10am – 4pm and its not a dine inn. you’ll have to pick up and go. so I would recommend to call in your order. also you should try their papaya seed sauce which is a nice touch for your sandwich. it give it a nice wow to your taste buds!
