We stopped here for a bite to eat. It’s a modest restaurant that looks like a train carriage. There are a few tables inside, lots of light. The staff is a young girl and two young guys. They are all very welcoming and friendly. The girl is very polite, she helped people with disabilities open the front door. There are only a few sandwiches and drinks on the menu. I ordered the signature sandwich, and my husband ordered pulled pork and soup. My signature sandwich was juicy and had a good filling. My husband didn’t like the sandwich very much, the soup was good. We both noted that the sandwich bread wasn’t tasty. The prices aren’t expensive. I recommend visiting!

The BBQ was very good. The sandwiches we had were all of the Stookey’s signature sandwiches. All were very good. The pickeled relish was the added condiment to helped put the sandwich over the top.

A gem in Nanticoke PA worth an afternoon trip for a great BBQ Sandwich.

An awesome vintage roadside restaurant! Great service and great food! It’s a great place to stop for a bite and support local family owned businesses! Highly recommended!

Always like the food here. Good old strokes version. Love the ham the most and took a kielbasa ring home too. Old fashioned place. Old old building with very nice people. Always our stop when in the area.

We have eaten at this place twice in the last month. The first time we went in there the macaroni salad had mustard in it when we ate last month and this month my wife had the potato salad and the Stookies sandwich and The potato salad tasted like The mayonnaise was spoiled. Her Stookies BBQ sandwich was excellent with lots of meat but my smoke kielbasa sandwich had two tiny little pieces of kielbasa and no sauce on it and it was very dry to where I had to add my coleslaw on it just so I could eat it. Her daughter’s pulled pork sandwich was excellent. The price range for the smoke kielbasa sandwich was overpriced for what they gave you. The table was dirty when we got there like it hasn’t been wiped off. We will go back but only to order the pulled pork or the Stookies barbecue sandwich. The coleslaw was good.

Maybe they were good a time ago but the food I got was barely edible, I tried my best to get through the meal but just couldn’t. No flavor over cooked meat. This may be the first time I’ve been disappointed by a bbq joint. Didn’t even eat half of it, I honestly wouldn’t feed this to my dog. Staff is awesome, they deserve better than this.

No smoke = no BBQ

You can’t microwave a tub of Lloyd’s, smear it on a cheap roll and call it barbeque. The food is as lacking as the distinct absence of smoke at this place. The atmosphere is dated and low effort.

Won’t eat there. Just walked passed it.
EDIT: Apparently the owners have a short memory. After a couple years working there, creating 3 menu items and saving their business license by creating a HAACP plan for safe food handling I get treated very badly. So for my efforts Ralph (owner) decides to violate my civil rights and within the same month calling me about work while I’m burying my brother. While I’m graveside! And I still gave notice before I quit. I never got an apology. So it’s either more callous disregard or a false sense of security thinking statutes ran out and forgetting that the pandemic extended them. So I would like to know what’s so interesting about not patronizing a place that treats people like that? Besides, if anyone got a look at where the meats are processed they wouldn’t eat there either.

First time here and it is awesome. The pork bbq was so tender and moist, the chili & French fries were good. Service was great. This will be a favorite place from now on.
