Today is Valentine’s Day and our reservation that my Husband made at Cooper’s Hawk more than a month did not go well as they wanted us to sit on their horrible covered patio. We are long time Wine Club Members at Cooper’s Hawk but today (Valentine’s Day) since we were already in Annapolis and now, with no reservation, he called Stoney River and they were booked but said come on over. We arrived, there was no wait and the Tito’s Jalapeño and Rosemary Martini was absolutely excellent as well as our appetizers and entree. We had not been to Stoney River in a few years but it is now our preference. The ambience and food at Stoney River was exactly what we needed for a special occasion. The food at Stoney River Steakhouse was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We began with the whiskey shrimp served on country toast, paired with a whiskey sour, and both were outstanding. I’m not sure what sauce they use on the shrimp, but it was incredibly flavorful and truly memorable.
For our entrées, we ordered the NOLA shrimp and the ahi tuna, both of which were prepared beautifully and full of flavor. I also added a baked potato to my meal. While it was impressively large, I felt it could have used a bit more of the toppings, which were somewhat scarce.
We also tried the French fries, which were delicious and elevated with a truffle seasoning.
And I can’t forget to mention the bread and butter that comes to the table—absolutely amazing. It was such a hit that our two-year-old toddler happily ate several pieces on her own!
Overall, a fantastic dining experience with excellent food and plenty of highlights.

I truly enjoyed the cuisine at Stony River Steakhouse and Grill. I had always wanted to try this restaurant out and finally got my opportunity on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was warm and inviting primarily due to the fireplace which created an enjoyable dining experience.
As for the food, it was excellent. From the sweet bread to the esthetically pleasing presentation of my Crab Cake appetizer and Chicken dish, this Annapolis local gets a 10/10 on my list. And might I add, the waitress, front desk hostess, and table escorts were quite professional and kind. Yes, the food was very good and the portions were great!

The cocktail prices were reasonable. I had the Lemon Drop mojito (well 2 of them )….it was delicious

Came here for an early lunch. Sat at the bar and was greeted promptly. I ordered bread which was a little burnt. I ordered the Cumberland salad which is one of my favorites. I ordered my dressing on the side since it is a huge salad. When my salad came it was dressed…. Honestly wilted. I brought it to the bartenders attention and he did go back and get me an undressed salad. He also made sure my cup was never empty and for that alone I would return. I just hope I get a better “food” experience next time.

My boyfriend and I dined at Stoney River for his birthday celebration. When we asked our waitress about a specific wine, she was unsure but proposed a more popular option at a lower price point. I asked her to consult with someone more knowledgeable. The manager she summoned, unfortunately, was not well-versed in wines either. She did, however, offer us an alternative wine from the same region to sample. We ultimately decided to purchase the original bottle. Later, another server, who refilled our water, showcased extensive knowledge of the wine list, making us question why he wasn’t consulted earlier. The food was average, with underwhelming deviled eggs and satisfactory calamari. The onion soup was pretty good. The steak frites were not good. The standout item was the rolls. Our server appeared to be either new or inadequately trained, as she seemed unfamiliar with the menu and wine list. This dinner, was in my opinion not worth the $400 we spend.

This was our first visit. We had a girls shopping day. We were greeted and seated immediately at the door. The food was great. Our server was polite and professional. The atmosphere was great my youngest is 18 months in this visit and she had an amazing time. She was calm and polite. Which is not easy for a toddler.

First, let me say the setting is beautiful and I appreciate how spacious the dining room is. I also love the open kitchen. We were seated near by and as a person who loves to cook, it was impressive to watch how well the kitchen runs.
Next, our server, I believe her name was Kimmy, was amazing! We asked her for suggestions while deciding what to order and everything she suggested was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and genuinely sweet.
Now, the food. The steak and cheese egg rolls were delicious! Hot, cheesy and full of steak. We also had the deviled eggs and they were tasty as well. But the Stacked burger that my partner and I had was the best smash burger I’ve ever had! It came out so quick and piping hot. I’ll be back for just that. How will I ever try another entrée with that burger in the menu? Overall, we had a lovely meal and experience.
