Arrrgghhhh! Looks like this place has been discovered and given its full due. I discovered this place during Covid, after the new bypass opened, which made it much more (too?) accessible. Middle of nowhere. At a farm country crossroads. Concrete block building. Earnest, hard-working women behind the counter. And maybe the best tasting pork I’ve had in a long, long time. Sweet, juicy, porky, woodsy. And crunchy slaw. It was takeout only the last time I went; maybe that has changed. A new routine means I’ll have the chance to eat here again, often. My grudging acknowledgement is that the Google Maps raters know what they’re talking about here.

We had a great experience here Friday night. We were a party of 6 celebrating a birthday and everything was just fantastic. Our server (Anne I think) was energetic and attentive. The bartender was on point with our drinks and made an excellent old fashioned! We had dry aged steaks that were prepared perfectly. Really a nice dinner and warm service, will definitely return.

Nice meal with attentive server but food was fairly average. Prime Rib was tender but lacking flavor. Spinach dip was just OK. Lobster bisque did not have the splash of sherry that generally “makes it”. Tasted as it it had been scorched.

Fried chicken sandwich was really good. I was hoping for BBQ but they only make it the 2nd and 4th Saturday. Onion rings were frozen, not hand battered, so just okay. Overall a good lunch.
