Every part of our dining experience was delightful. The warm greeting from Steph made us feel welcome. Meg was our waitress and we were lavished with superior service. We enjoyed our dinner on the patio where the evening was cool and the Montana sky was beautiful.
We began with the burrata with heirloom tomatoes. The smoked powder on this dish made it unique with a creative flair. We enjoyed the arugula and poached egg salad. The vinaigrette complimented the salad. For the main dishes we had the 1) Seared Scallops which had were cooked to perfection! The presentation was beautiful and the flavor of the fennel, corn, spinach , chorizo risotto were outstanding. 2.) Vanilla Butter Black Tiger Shrimp. The jasmine rice was creamy and flavorful and the shrimp were wonderful. 3) Molasses Brined Pork Loin which had braised greens. The play of the molasses loin with the braised greens with the creamy celery root puree , smoked bacon, apple, fennel, apple peach mostarda and herbed pecans was a flavor that showcased the chef’s refined culinary talent. 4) Beef Tenderloin which was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The stuffed russet potato and bacon, cauliflower and brussel sprouts made for a traditional meal with a flair.
We managed to save room for the vanilla ice cream with Huckleberry Compote swirl. All I can say is – Do not miss this! This dessert was fantastic and the huckleberries are a Montana staple. We had two other desserts – the chocolate torte and the caramel creme brule (to be honest, we don’t remember the official names of the desserts). The caramel creme brule was decadent and the chocolate torte was rich and sinful.
I wish I had more time to spend in Big Fork, but I am glad for the time I was there that I discovered Stone Hill Kitchen and Bar. When I get back to the area, I WILL make sure to reserve a table!
Thank you Steph and Meg for the wonderful evening, great service and your amazing story of the restaurant.
Kuddos to the chef who is creative, eclectic, and original . The presentation of each dish was artistic and the dance of flavors will long be remembered.

We chose Stone Hill Kitchen for a family gathering, and it did not disappoint! The setting was cozy and welcoming, and the staff was very helpful and attentive. We especially loved the locally sourced ingredients and their creative uses (fermented vegetable powder as a seasoning on the grilled veggie board?!?!). The wine selection was amazing as well, and it really helped add the perfect touch on the evening. Happy to hear that the patio is open now, and we’ll have to get back soon to dine outdoors! You definitely should make a point to visit if you are in the Flathead area!

Beautifully displayed dishes with a unique take on them, just wasn’t my style. For appetizers we had the charttar board with brie and strawberry preserves and roasted bone marrow of which none of our family liked the bone marrow. Main dishes were okay but not enough to fill you up. Our favorite of the whole meal was the doc holiday drink that tasted like carrot cake, was absolutely delicious. The whole experience was nice but very slow drinks took 20 minutes and we were there over 2 hours without even ordering desert.

My husband and I had the luxury of visiting Stonehill not once but twice during our recent vacation to Montana. I had the Empress and the Earl cocktail and the passion fruit sour – they were both incredible. I also had the vegetarian surf n turf, which absolutely blew my mind – it was a delightful medley of textures and ingenious culinary craft, the coral mushrooms were so convincingly “fishy”, I had to re-convince myself I wasn’t eating seafood. The second night I had the bison, it was prepared a perfect medium rare and was so buttery I didn’t even need a stale knife. We took the sommelier’s recommendations for the second night and she knocked them out of the park with every course- it was delightful. I could also sing the praises of the asparagus and the tomato-burrata starter. Truth be told I could go on about the details of each dish but you should instead experience it for yourself. If you’re in Bigfork/Kalispell – go pay them a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a awesome meal here! The decor is lovely and inviting, the service was so attentive that we didn’t have to think about anything – we just relaxed, drank, ate and enjoyed. They have a new chef (Chef Rikku), who is creating fabulous and innovative dishes with meat, fish, and produce sourced from the Northwest (the elk was amazing). The cocktail and wine list were fantastic. Recommend it highly! Can’t wait to go back, definitely worth a drive if you aren’t in the area!

From top to bottom, this is a can’t miss dining experience. Not only worth traveling to locally, this magnificent restaurant should be visited from all over the world. I can’t say enough about how amazing the entire meal was: the ambiance, service, food and drink, welcoming nature, and did I mention food? Boy, this is a meal that will stick with me for a long time – cannot wait to be back here!

Casual atmosphere. Very upscale food. Was there for my 34th wedding anniversary on 2/21. Beef tenderloin was amazing. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Andrew, I hope you do well here.
