I’m writing to share an unpleasant experience I had at your Stone Creek Coffee location on Oakland Ave in Shorewood this Friday (1/23) around 4–5 p.m.
My husband and I ordered one coffee and one latte. The shop was not busy at the time—there were only about four customers total, and two baristas working. After finishing part of our drinks, I felt a bit dehydrated and politely asked for two cups of hot water—one for me and one for my husband.
The female barista responded by asking, in a rude tone, why I needed the water. After I explained, and she got the two cups of water and practically threw them at me, spilling water all over the counter. She then immediately turned away and began chatting with another customer.
I was surprised and honestly hurt by the way I was treated. I don’t understand why such a simple request was handled with such dismissiveness. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.

Such a great coffee shop right in the heart of Shorewood. Friendly service, especially by Alex. There are a lot of seating options, and the coffee is wonderful. Lots of street parking too. A terrific place to relax and ejoy a cup.

Stopped here few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Got a coffee and a butter biscuit and loved both of them a lot! I like how the door handle is an espresso handle and the amount of trial samples of beans/coffee customers can buy. Will be stopping here again in the future!

I love this place! Whether it’s for a quick coffee or pastry to-go or whether it’s a spot to work-from-home, or whether it’s a spot to entertain a toddler on a rainy day, this place is the best! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, the coffee is great, the pastries are awesome. I especially love the blueberry muffin and the sausage and egg stuffed bread.

Great local coffee shop! They have your standard coffee and tea drinks as well fun more unique drinks as well. I got the pistachio cardamom latte. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of spice. I would definitely get it again! They have a variety of pastries though I haven’t tried any yet. You can also purchase bag of roasted coffee to make at home. There is plenty of free street parking nearby and a small lot directly behind the shop.
