The food and drinks were delicious, I only ordered water but my boyfriend’s crown and coke was perfection. The taco soup was a huge surprise and I do mean HUGE!!!! Tasty just doesn’t describe it, a homemade memory is all I can say. The mozzarella sticks came out fresh hot and crispy yet stringy with warm marinara sauce! (more than pictured we started before taking the picture) The chicken fried steak tasted homemade with the fresh homemade fries and brown gravy. Let’s just say a little bit of EVERYTHING came home!!!! Definitely recommend this place!

It was super busy this night because of an event in town, so keep that in mind. The waitress was overwhelmed and walked out during her shift. The lady that came in the replace her was fantastic. Super fast friendly and attentive. The one that walked out…. Needs work. Complained to us the whole time she was there and was really out of her element.
The facility was nice, beers were cold and food was good.
Had the fried mushrooms for an app. The house made ranch is really good. Thick, not runny.
I ordered the hamburger and added bleu cheese and bacon along with fries. Burger was good, bacon was crispy, flavor was really good too. The fries were a tad on the soggy side for me, but were still good.
My buddy had the steak. Ordered medium but was slightly over done and had no pink in it. Has good flavor and seasoned well.

This was the only place open to eat on a Sunday night, so points to them for saving our hungry bellies. Food was just fine, but we ordered bar foods instead of the steakhouse style. No complaints about our server; she was great. Atmosphere was just as you’d expect for small town Montana—complete with the rodeo playing on the tvs.

I really wanna give a shout out to the female bartender with black hair and winged eyeliner that came to aid me when some weird guy was making me uncomfortable. At first it was friendly but he quickly tried to make it sexual. It felt good to have back up.

I usually try not to give bad reviews, especially after they tried to make it right when they realized that we were not happy with our experience. I can 100% agree with the other reviewers when they say if you aren’t local, it seems like they don’t want you there.
On our way back to Havre from Sleeping Buffalo, we decided to stop and grab a bite to eat. I found Stockmans on Google and thought a nice juicy steak from a local steakhouse would be a great idea.
My family and I walked in, and we immediately felt uncomfortable. It seems like it’s primarily a bar with a few tables for dining thrown in. I understand that they may be a little understaffed, but none of the wait staff seemed like they were very welcoming. We waited by the door for a few minutes when we saw one of the waitresses cleaning a table. My wife approached and asked her if it was ok to sit down. She seemed a little annoyed but told us that it was ok.
We didn’t wait too long before the waitress took our order, which was nice. I ordered the 16-ounce rib steak medium rare with homemade fries and a salad. My wife ordered one of the hamburgers with a baked potato. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I didn’t get my salad, and my wife didn’t get the ranch and sour cream for her baked potato.
When we were finally able to get the waitresses’ attention, she was too busy socializing, we brought up the fact that we didn’t get my salad and the baked potato fixings. She hastily brought the ranch and sour cream for my wife’s potato but failed to bring me my salad.
A table next to us with the same waitresses ordered after us, and the gentleman ordered a steak and salad as well. She made sure to bring him a salad with his steak. Kinda of let me know that I wasn’t really a concern of hers.
The steak itself was fair at best. It didn’t have much flavor, some salt and pepper go a long way. Somehow, the edges were cooked medium rare, like I ordered, and the center was more on the well-done side. (Not for sure how that happened) I don’t use steak sauce on my steaks, and when I reach for the steak sauce, to me, it needs help.
Another waitress ended up asking if we needed anything. We told her that I was still waiting on the salad, and she apologized profusely and promptly brought us one to go. Unfortunately, by the time we got the salad, we had already finished our food and were paying our check. They tried to smooth things over by bringing my daughter a miniature candy bar. (We didn’t order my daughter food because she shared my steak and fries.)
For the price I paid, I expect more from my meal and experience. I’m not saying to avoid Stockmans, I am just sharing my experience. In the future, I definitely will not go out of my way to give them my business. The next time I’m in Malta, I will just eat at Dairy Queen.

We went in looking for something for a late lunch. It was around 3 p.m. There was a lady behind the bar when we got there, and a couple of gentlemen at the bar. The lady ignored us completely. Another gentleman came from a room somewhere behind the bar and spoke with the lady then turned and went back into the room. The lady then, still ignoring us, walked off into a side room. One of the gentleman customers left, we waited a few more minutes, then realized that this place very obviously did not want to take our money, so we left.

The atmosphere was pretty surreal and new to me as I have never went to a bar before. The food I was served was pretty good though.. the chicken sandwich could definitely use a sauce luckily there were sauces available although limited.

Pretty basic home town bar. Had a good steak for dinner. Nice owner. She was friendly and welcoming. There were two pool tables. Several players were there having a good time.
