Giacomo Guido, a student of the traditional ways leads the charge with his creations; adding a touch of the local and new to ideas and flovours that could only be a product of understanding the land he is from, and where he lives. Their offerings and quality are up there with the best. Ingredient quality is top-notch, and toppings are plentiful. The Dough is a perfect mix of, chewy, crunchy and puffy. Cheese used is generous, fresh and stretchy. Sauces are deep, complex and unique.
This is the top choice for pizza in the UK North West.
Do ensure to book to avoid disappointment. The place gets very busy and only has a handful of tables.
We had an incredible experience at Stile Napoletano, and it fully deserves every bit of its 5-star reputation.
I ordered the Ragù Napoletano (9-hour slow-cooked pork in tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, EVO oil, parmesan and fresh basil) and my wife chose the Capricciosa (San Marzano tomato, cooked ham, mushrooms, artichokes, black olives, mozzarella, basil and EVO oil). We allowed ourselves one bite of each other’s pizza… and immediately regretted it because neither of us wanted to give up another mouthful of our own.
This is proper Italian pizza at its absolute best. In a single bite you can taste every individual ingredient at different moments – the freshness of the basil, the softness of the mozzarella, and that incredible slow-cooked pork ragù pulling everything together. All of it sits on the most delicious, perfectly balanced crust and base.
Washed down with a Peroni Rossa, the proper Peroni, not the watered-down version you usually find, it couldn’t have been better. To finish, I had the homemade tiramisu and a glass of limoncello, which genuinely transported me back to holidays from my youth in Sorrento and Rome.
Outstanding food, authentic flavours, and exceptional value for money. Far greater quality at a lower price than the well-known pizza delivery chains. Cannot recommend highly enough, and absolutely deserving of all the awards it has received.
We booked a table in advance, I’m not sure if they do walk ins as the restaurant was the only full place in Chester when we had a walk around before the reservation
I’ve lived in Italy for several years and I can guarantee the pizza in Stile Napoletano is better than in many pizzerias in Italy.
What a gem of a restaurant to have in Chester.
The only thing that was a slight inconvenience was how warm the place was. The style was open kitchen in the dining area with no air con and only a fan blowing warm air around the room. It was well worth suffering for! And we did visit mid June in the middle of a heat wave! Just something to be mindful of.
Highly recommend booking in advance — the place is small and fills up quickly. A perfect spot for a relaxed lunch or a cosy evening out. I’ll definitely be back!
We had the Salsiccia e Friarielle and the Bufala. They were both superb. Next time I’m trying the ragu pizza.
We then had the ricotta e pera which was a nice light (ish!) ending to the meal.
Service was fantastic, and it was a scorching hot day so we enjoyed our meal outside the restaurant.
