Also got the red bean mochi pastry. Omg, so good but too sweet for health reasons.
I got the wontons. They were stuffed and decent in size. Probably the least favorite. They were good but just came back from eating at ding tai fung so my taste buds a bit spoiled.
This small, family run business seems to make everything from scratch and they have an entire system to deliver fresh dumplings and sides. I saw a lot of people coming in to grab lunch before heading back to their day jobs, so this was a good sign.
I went with two of my usual orders at dumpling shops:
– Six Vegan Potstickers, all on a disposable plate, was full of homemade deliciousness. The filling was fantastic and the fact that each one didn’t break apart was a win in itself.
– Scallion Pancake looked and felt like a prioshky. It was certainly denser than ones I’m used to and was a decent side to my dumplings. This item took a bit longer to come out so I had to go check to make sure it was still happening.
What’s also great is how affordable everything was compared to the rest of the city. I think my entire meal came out to be around $10 which is nothing to scoff about in this day and age.
The dumplings are a perfect symphony of taste, flavor, texture. The wrapper itself has flavor! Best dumplings I’ve had and I’m not usually impressed by vegetable dumplings. These are not plain and are full of flavor. Not an afterthought type of vegan option. It would be nice to have a second vegan dumpling option with tofu or alt protein.
The soup is a perfect light seaweed broth not doing too much and not overly salty. Complimentary to the dumplings!
The pumpkin is delicious, slightly on the sweet side, a little overcooked/mushy but not in a bad way.
Some seating inside for dine-in.
The price is very friendly with the quality they provide you.
Got the braised beef rice and pan fried classic dumplings, and as expected the food was amazing. HOT, very HOT (temperature wise), but man was the food delicious. They also didn’t skimp out on fillings for the dumplings and they’re filled to as much as the surface area allowed them to.
10/10 would recommend.
Do not order the rice meals. We tried 3 of them- chicken curry, braised beef and pork over rice. They just don’t taste good. Squash side dish tasted like fish.
