We loved this cute little restaurant! The food was all homemade and they even had fried green tomatoes! We very reasonably priced, especially for a buffet…will definitely be back anytime we are in the area! Sweet people!

This place has a delicious home cooked buffet. Wonderful, friendly staff also. We ate there 5 times while visiting the area and never had a bad meal or complaint. There were 3 of us. Buffet includes hot bar,salad bar, soup , homemade desserts and a drink for very reasonable price. This is not a upscale restaurant just good home cooked meals.

The BEST home style Southern Cooking!!! My kids and I were driving through Hiawassee and stopped for a meal. Our server, Sheila, was awesome. We enjoyed her company each visit.
Great atmosphere and excellent food. So much so that we made a point to bring my husband back when we were driving through a couple days later. We were excited to share.
When my husband tastes the fried chicken he told us that it tasted just like his Grandma’s fried chicken. That is one of the best compliments he could give.
Don’t miss out on Steve’s Place. I recommend the buffet and also the delicious French Dip. Yum!!!

We asked a local resident to recommend a good lunch spot on a Saturday and she said Steve’s place for their fried chicken. Our waitress said they had menu items too but we opted for the buffet. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Fried chicken, beef tips, rice, potatoes, green beans, and black eyed peas. I especially loved the fried corn nuggets. Hubby didn’t like those said they were too sweet. Desserts were tasty and homemade. Friendly service.

Steve’s Place is a great place to eat! The food is always good! I love the Sunday Buffet because they have turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. There are other items to choose from too. There is also a great Salad Bar. The Owners are wonderful people and all of the employees are so friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

I had the fried chicken special. The chicken was very good! Corn nuggets were good as were the cheese grits ( best I’ve ever had at a restaurant) and Cole slaw. Portions were very large. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. If you want really good food at a GREAT price, try one of Steve”s specials. I would definitely go back there.

We’re passing through and wanted something local. We saw it and pulled in… Very glad we did. I got the Friday special, fried catfish and the wife got grilled catfish. Both were very good. The sides were good too. The best part was you got a meat and two sides for only $5!! Outstanding!

Very friendly service. Nice, clean atmosphere. Reasonable prices and super delicious food! Oh! And save room for dessert! Banana pudding, bread pudding and chocolate cobbler!! Our family will definitely be back every time we are in the area!!

We stopped by this restaurant after a rather lengthy trip from south of Atlanta. We were craving home cooked country fixins and thought this would be a great place to find it but much to our surprise it was everything but that. We should have walked out the moment we walked in but we thought we would give the country mountain “charm” a chance. We sat down and were greeted promptly which was a nice gesture but what happened next threw it all out the door. We served ourselves over cooked veggies and greasy beef stew from the very limited selection at the buffet. As we tried to enjoy the food as best we could, what was a party of three quickly became a party of 10. Roaches galore. They were very active and decided to come join us. We notified the owner and she kindly let us leave without paying. Their hospitality is dually noted but the bugs did us in. We will not be back.

The best place we have eaten at, in the last three days that we have been in Helen. We saw it as we were out driving the mountain back roads. The food was great and the banana pudding was to die for. The next time we come back up here we will be stopping back by to eat again. Great home cooking.
