The food was good and is a mix of polish, american and well polish american.
2nd time I ate at Steve’s I went in and ordered a Salisbury steak and it was raw in the middle (and by raw I mean uncooked red and cold I eat medium rare steak I’m not afraid of pink or red meat but this was straight raw)
3rd time I ate at Steve’s was yesterday, my sister wanted pierogis. I warned them not to get the Salisbury steak because it always comes out undercooked. We decided to get potato pierogis, cheese pierogis, potato pancakes, and stuffed cabbage, her boyfriend got the gyro. Pierogis were good, potato pancakes were 90% gluey flour and 10% actual potato. The stuffed cabbage was good at first, i had one and my sister had the other, until the second cabbage was cut into and the stuffed cabbage meat was RAW. I even had a side by side comparison, my mean was tan/brown in my cabbage and her was pink and red with blood coming out. The most edible thing at the polish restaurant ended up being the gyro, which we made fun of him for ordering at first but it turns out that was the smart order.
I can’t actually trust or recommend eating here at all after being served raw meat consistently. Two stars for the soups though and the service is always ok and prompt.
Nestled at 15800 Middlebelt Road in Livonia, Steve’s Family Dining has been charming locals with its blend of Polish and American cuisine.
The restaurant’s cozy atmosphere is matched by its diverse menu. Breakfast here is particularly noteworthy, with items like potato pancakes receiving high praise. Lunch and dinner offer an array of dishes from Polish pierogies to American staples, satisfying a variety of tastes.
During my visit to I opted for the Polish Combo, a hearty assortment of traditional dishes. This included a variety of pierogies, stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut, and Polish sausage. Overall, the meal was quite enjoyable, although the pierogies were somewhat thick and lacked a bit in flavor.
As for the service, it was efficient but somewhat lacking in patience and friendliness.
This aspect slightly diminished the overall dining experience at a restaurant otherwise known for its satisfying Polish cuisine.
