First time visiting this place after passing by multiple times. Very nice experience.
The main reason to visit was to try their pizzas. I want to discover a great pizza place around my area.
The pizza sauce, cheese and basil were very fresh and tasty. The only reason I gave four stars is because I was expecting a better dough (texture). More fluffy and less crunchy.
The wine recommendation was great. I really like it.
The bread and salad were also very fresh and tasty.
Delicious dessert.
My wife liked the mussels as well. I don’t eat that.
I recommend this place and I will be back.

Stern & Bow is one of the only places in the area that has incredible food AND a great environment. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, weekends are always a great vibe with live music or a DJ, the cocktails are perfecttttt and they always have something cool and new with the menu.
If you’re looking for a great spot for brunch or dinner or a celebration etc, you have to come here. If you love oysters like I do, these are some of the best oysters I’ve had – I get them basically every time I’m there. 10/10 recommend!!!

This place is SO GOOD!!!!!!!! Everything is amazing! And you know what makes it even better… the awesome staff. Owner and server made this more than an incredible dining experience. Couldn’t recommend this place more and I am so excited to come back!!

I went to Stern & Bow in Closter last night to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and I absolutely loved it. The space has elevated décor, a lively vibe with a DJ, and incredible food. The oysters, wood-fired pizza, and steak were all exceptional, perfectly paired with beautifully crafted cocktails that (literally) lit up the table. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — our waiter even sat with us to connect and walk us through the menu, which made the experience feel so personal.
The whole night was polished, inviting, and celebratory. A seamless mix of luxury dining and fun atmosphere. I have to take my Morkie, Winston Paul back here for brunch as they are dog friendly outside. He would love it.

Sad to say we had a very negative experience on NYE. Mostly in part I believe to our rude and inattentive waiter. Service was horrible , he was cold, dismissive, and I didn’t get my drink (Diet Coke mind you) until the meal was nearly over. When I asked about it , he didn’t even respond or apologize just shoved it down the table ten mins later. Food was also disappointing. Kale salad with chicken especially disappointing as it’s hard to mess this up but it was dry and flavorless. Calamari also had no freshness. Bummer as the atmosphere and vibe is very cool! Also note that the espresso martini tower is not full size – more like shots. Not a bad deal still, but falsely advertised.

We randomly decided to book here for NYE dinner and we’re so glad we did! The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Everyone ordered something different so I tried a little bit of everyone’s dish and everything was just really delicious. My tandoori Salmon was excellent! I’m so glad we found this place, we will definitely be back.

The packed parking lot just tells you how good this restaurant is.
We ordered the lump crab meat ceasar salad and calamari for appetizers. Delicious salad and perfectly cooked calamari. For meals we had the ribs, sea bass, the lobster pasta special, and mussels. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious!
for dessert the churros is a hit. the apple beignet was also good but had a totally different expectation for beignets. The caramel sauce was delicious.
Can see and taste the NOLA influence on the main dishes.
If any critique, the noise level once the restaurant was full got a little too loud.
Otherwise the service and the food were amazing! Will definitely be back to try the brunch menu!

We wanted to go out locally for seafood & our neighbors suggested Stern and Bow.
Every aspect of our experience there was exceptional. It started with a very friendly valet and only became better by our server, Athena who was pleasant, friendly and helpful. We ordered the branzino and the salmon, both were served quickly and each was delicious! Definitely a place to go for a great meal, service and atmosphere!!

We were very happy with our dinner last night! The potato vegetable soup was delicious. The filet mignon and its beef sauce was fantastic. We got very good treatment and will go back soon!
