1. We only ordered desserts so I can’t really judge other items on the menu. All the desserts were really good minus the funnel stick, it was good but a bit greasy! Brownie Sunday was amazing! Brownie perfect texture to go along with the vanilla ice cream and the churro cake was surprisingly good! Soft, tasty and delicious!
2. The server was super nice and cool we only ordered desserts
3. Price is relatively good!
4. Food came out fast
5. From what I heard they have food deals for wings during the weekday.
The food is hands down the BEST food I’ve ever had at a bar/sports bar/watering hole/etc. Their head chef does amazing things with common bar fare, and their bar staff – especially Ian – are professional, respectful, and make delicious drinks.
Recent 1-star reviews are suspect since they all came within a day or two of each other which seems…unlikely. Great family atmosphere, great local community, and great service. Top notch.
Meanwhile, for the entrees, if your intent is to come out for a nice romantic dinner, then according to my mate, Andy, you’d be better off going elsewhere.
While I would like it if karaoke night offered side TVs so that it would be easier to read the lyrics, all in all, if you love watching sports while munching on delicacies with friends, then definitely give Stella a shot.
Shoutout to my mate, Andy Davis, for taking me here! I love you, dear!
The drinks are always well made and reliable. Like any great neighborhood bar and restaurant, there are certain times of day when it can be a bit louder or more crowded, but that is actually part of the charm for me. I love that lively, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere and consider it a green flag, not a drawback.
What truly sets Stella Point Grille apart is the staff. Ian has an incredible sense of humor that makes every visit more enjoyable. I have been following him since his days at Bar Louie for a reason. Ryan is awesome, Nicolette is fantastic, and Peter and Graham run the place extremely well. There is always someone present who is attentive and capable of handling anything that may arise, though I honestly cannot recall ever having an issue.
From brunch to last call, I have always had a great experience here. Stella Point Grille is consistent, welcoming, and exactly what you want in a neighborhood favorite. Highly recommended.
The wife and I decided to go on one Sunday afternoon. When we got there, the restaurant was much bigger than it appears to be on the outside. We sat at the bar with about six other people, but from what we could tell the rest of the restaurant was pretty empty. Great place to watch sports as there are plenty of TV’s everywhere.
As we were deciding what to order, we struck up a conversation with two other regulars who made some recommendations. My wife got the Big Sur sandwich, we split some blackberry habanero wings, and I got a cheesesteak with a side of chimichurri.
My wife loved the Big Sur sandwich. She offered me a bite which I gladly took and I can say it was very good. The blackberry habanero wings were interesting. I wouldn’t really say that they were very blackberry-y or even that they had the spice I would expect from a habanero. I would basically just call them spicy barbecue wings. Not a knock by any stretch of the imagination – the wings were a decent size, were cooked well, and were very flavorful. Would I order them again? Personally, probably not but only because I don’t love barbecue wings.
The cheesesteak was delicious, the bread was toasted nicely, but still soft enough after absorbing the juices from the ribeye steak. I don’t believe in lettuce, tomato or mayonnaise on a cheesesteak so I got it without that. Provolone cheese, grilled onions and usually some hot peppers are my go to, but I skipped the hot peppers in lieu of trying the chimichurri. Great move! Each of our meals came with fries and I can say that these are some of the best fries I’ve had in a long time. Very well executed!
If you’re in the Kensington area, I would definitely recommend stopping by. The beer list left a little to be desired, but they had all the normal stuff.
If I could do half star ratings, I would probably give this a 4.5. Everything was really good and despite me rating the service a three, it was not that the service was bad. I kind of felt like there was some sort of inside joke that I wasn’t in on because of the way that some of the staff were teasing and bickering at each other, almost like I was on a hidden camera reality tv show.
As an avid sports fan, it is a great place to catch any of the games. From the wide variety of TVs to the atmosphere with other patrons, Stella makes watching sports fun. Even if some of the patrons are not a fan of your team, they are still respectful.
If you just want a good drink or something to eat, their menu has a variety of options. For the price, you can find almost anything you are craving. A personal favorite is the tots, and steak and cheese. They also will tailor to your likings, so if you see something on menu, but want to customize it to your liking, they will work with you.
Anytime of day is good to go, but if you are looking for a subtle chill time, the AM/Mid afternoon is always great time to go. Alex the bartender is usually the one on duty then, and he will cater to you in a sufficient manner.
Evening times, or like a high energy time, Ian is also a great bar tender and will take care of you.
Any of the bartenders/servers are good 🙂
Regrettably, I have to take off a star because my husband’s nachos were criminally underdressed. We had to take the chips we received and add our own cheese to make them into actual nachos.
