If you’re over 30 and craving a hit of pure nostalgia, The Steer In is exactly where you need to be. Walking in felt like stepping into a classic diner from a simpler time — the kind of place where the coffee’s always hot, the conversations flow, and you instantly feel at home. But even if you did not grow up around classic diners this place gives you that vintage, feel-good atmosphere.
The food? Amazing. Every bite tasted like comfort and care, the kind of meal that makes you pause and go, “Wow, why don’t more places do it like this anymore?”
A huge thank-you to Sophie, whose friendly and prompt service took everything to the next level. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely made the whole experience even better.
And I have to mention the group of five elderly regulars who sat nearby — they absolutely made my day. Their humor, their stories, and the way they joked with the staff added this wholesome, heartwarming layer to the whole visit. It felt like watching a live sitcom unfold while eating great food.
So if you want a spot where the food is fantastic, the service is phenomenal, and the kind of place where people know each other by first name — go visit the Steer In. It’s more than a meal… it’s a vibe.

Local place. Old good time vibe. Beef and noodles not my thing but it was good. Meat balls with cornbread – great. Desert. Well i will not share how good was and how i would like it every day. I will not even give you name of desert you gonna have to show picture to get it- add black coffe and you are on way to time machine into good old times. Service was good and wifi didnt work – this way you can focus on the food and vibe not bullshit on internet. I hope I will be able to comeback.

Me and my wife came in on a Tuesday and
The food was great but the service was just as good..seated immediately..didn’t know much because we never had been there. Melanie was our waitress and she was excellent kind, knowledgeable about the menu..and she was the only waitress and it was busy and she still never let her attention off of us. Now for the food. They made my onion rings spicy and that wasn’t on the menu definitely a plus there…I had my meatball sub altered too no sweat off the Chefs back because it was also on point!! The Pepsi was Litty!
I recommend coming here.

Arrived from CO and came straight here based on our research of pork tenderloins. We were NOT disappointed! HUGE tenderloin with the biggest, crispiest onion rings ever seen. The Frisco melt and homemade beef and noodles were nothing less than perfection. Great small diner atmosphere, staff was fantastic as well! When in town, you must visit this place!

New Years Day 2026 and almost $50 down the drain! Took 1 bite of everything and in the trash it went! Ordered the onion rings (look great and seems like the go-to), small cheese pizza added sausage, and the knock off looking big mac. Onion rings = NO FLAVOR AT ALL, Burger = NO FLAVOR AT ALL and had no type of sauce, literally just tomatoe pickle lettuce and onions, Pizza = WTH? & NO FLAVOR AT ALL literally looks and taste like a bigger lunch able pizza that was cooked in a easy bake oven. NEVER AGAIN!

Our waitress was wonderful and our food was delicious. Even got a piece of pie to go! Wonderful atmosphere and great “diner” experience. Will definitely be back. Really good coleslaw too!

We went here today for the first time to try out the Hoosier tenderloin. I’ve heard a lot of things about the tenderloin and they were right it was great! It was thick, crunchy, spicy and large, not real large and not medium so I loved it. Gave the tenderloin 9. The onion rings were a pleasant surprise. They were large And crunchy and delicious and the onions did not slide out when you bit into them so I gave them a 10. I wanted to get a piece of that banana cream pie, but I didn’t have room to eat it. It was a good place to go.

I stopped in for breakfast (corned beef hash and steer in potatoes) and it was incredibly delicious. Service was fast and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back soon!

I cannot count how many times I have passed The Steer-In and wondered what was the story here. Now I can say I am a huge fan of this unique restaurant with a long established history.
I felt like I was taking a step back in time as the restaurant has an old school diner feel to it with many regulars. We were greeted immediately with a friendly welcome.
There were many great options but we decided on the half fried chicken, the beer battered fish sandwich and meatball trio plate
The chicken was crispy yet tender on the inside. The fish sandwich was large and very tasty. The fries that came with it a step above as not always impressed with crinkle style fries. These were very good.
Where they truly made my evening was the meatballs. Usually a bit skeptical ordering them outside of an Italian restaurant, I know that sounds a bit pompous, but wow, they blew me away in taste. Sauce was spot on and the mix of beef pork and veal perfection. I can see why they were featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.
Service was extremely friendly and prompt.
Already looking forward to the next visit and would highly recommend you stop by and see for yourself .
Fun fact, beer cannot be ordered at the counter yet perfectly ok at table or booth.
