I’d never had food fried in tallow oil… whoa! Amazing fries and onion rings! The Steele Horse Beast was delicious, but I think the description oversold it.
They are new and working on staffing. So normally I’d say it was a bit slow for service, but I’m confident that’ll improve as they gain traction in the community.
This is not your typical ‘Belle Plaine Bar’ the food exceeds expectations, seating is great, prices are competitive.
I’m hopeful this business will thrive here!

We had to go check out all the hype at Steel Horse Tavern – Yum-o! Great service, delicious food! We tried the southwestern egg rolls, regular pork egg rolls, mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. We will definitely go back! And……my hubby is obsessed with Jaws, they had a Jaws pin ball machine!! Love the wood table tops. I will post a photo of our food too.

Aside from anything deep fried in beef tallow, which is good as stated by other reviewers. The service has been slooooow and the rest of the food was average at best. I’ve been there when its slow and the service is still slow. Busy nights, dont plan on getting anything in a timely manner… I wanted to like this place but the last visit was very subpar! The bartender was more worried about serving drinks at the bar while almost every table hadn’t been taken care of, she was more worried about the drinks, than staying on top of her tables. $123 for bad service is going to sink that bar quickly of they dont change. Not going back there again.

Waitress was very nice. It took over 1hr to get our food. Did give us free cheese curds but 15sec later we got our food. Cook delivered our ranch dip after we were done eating. Won’t bring kids there again.
