Wife and I got off of a cruise ship and spent a couple of hours walking and being tourists. We stopped in for a bite to eat. The staff were very friendly and attentive as we ordered. There was a large spill on the floor as we went to sit down which was quickly took care of by the staff. It was a little bit of a wait for our meals but well worth it. My bacon cheese burger was large and full of flavor. My wife ordered the bunless burger with bacon and cheese fries. They give enough fries for two people. The food was very good and the establishment was clean.

Burgers, fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings were all amazing. The sauce selection was very cool with a huge variety. Banana ketchup was delicious. Don’t be afraid to try new things. They accommodated our large crowd with quick and friendly service. Quality food.

We just needed food but a herd of cruise ship cattle had overtaken the streets of old San Juan. While dodging the stampede trying to consume everything in sight we found the one place with no wait, buns burgers.
It should have been the most packed as the portions are huge and everything is over processed. And the lady decided to charge us for an extra fries. But on top of the 3,000 calorie a piece servings we did get a Diet Coke. Five stars.

If you’re craving a solid burger, Buns Burger Shop delivers where it counts most: flavor. The patties are juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to order, with that perfect balance of char on the outside and tenderness inside. The brioche buns are lightly toasted, holding everything together without getting soggy, and the toppings taste fresh and thoughtfully layered. Their fries deserve a shoutout too—crispy, golden, and generously portioned.
That said, as good as the food is, the experience has been consistently frustrating for one major reason: missing items. On more than one occasion, parts of the order—whether it’s fries, sauces, or even an entire side—have simply been left out of the bag. There’s nothing more disappointing than getting home, ready to dig in, only to realize something’s missing. It turns what should be a satisfying meal into an inconvenience.
To their credit, the staff is usually polite and quick to fix mistakes if you catch them early. But when it happens repeatedly, it starts to feel less like an occasional oversight and more like a pattern. For a place that clearly knows how to make a great burger, tightening up order accuracy would elevate the overall experience significantly.

Rhis is my second time here… I am a local… I was in a hurry and sweating do I entered to BUNS… As I was ordering the clerk avoid eye conyact and just responden automatically. She was in her phone as the other 2 clerks. Ad I ordered I remembered that tje food last time wasn’t good and made me feel a bit ill. As I sat I start seeing that the place is almost empty and that the floors and tables were dirty, also the windows are all covered in mold and dust they don’t clean in nor inside or outside. The ordered came with the wrong cheese and the bun was old and stale. They made a new one… The mushrooms are HORRIBLE!! LOOK THE PHOTOS! They must be fake process mushrooms. They just taste like old burned oil.
I couldn’t eat the bread nor the mushrooms and the sweet potatoes were not sweet they were so salty. Look my photos… I am using too much of my time in this terrible food experience. Here I am copy pasting another post that also express my 2nd experience.

the food was terrible, normally I am not one to waste food but I could not even eat the burger and fries that I ordered. To add on to this issue the people and staff in this restaurant were some of the rudest people that I had come into contact with my whole trip to Puerto Rico. The young women who was taking my order wouldn’t even bother to look me in the eye when I was speaking to her and the only words she could muster were yep and sure. The most the staff did was chat with each other in the back leaving me waiting for multiple minutes to order my food. The meal and trashy food was also SUPER expensive and I payed way too much money for some nasty, tasteless, cold fries and a burger with a bad tomato and stale bun. I do not know how this restaurant had gotten 4 stars because my experience here at buns was terrible and I advise you not to ever go!

Not quality food. We disagree with the reviewer that stated it was “better” than five guys. It has a five guys feel but lower quality. Cajun fries were okay but they only put seasoning on the very top, leaving all of the fries underneath plain. It also seemed they gave me a cup with an almost

For a burger joint this place was standard but the burgers were stellar. The single burger was good size and the same as two patties elsewhere. It’s like a Five Guys but bigger, better and cheaper. The sweet potatoe fries were very tasty and a good portion size, enough for two. Onion rings were basic but that’s ok. The hot dog is food size, but served on a sub roll so a lot of bread. Fountain sodas are refillable so be sure to ask. Counter service.

Cute little burger spot. Puts me in the mind of Five Guys in the mainland states. The burger was good and a nice size. I got the double bacon and cheese. I couldn’t finish it. The fries were okay. I ordered a strawberry milkshake which is made from their “Famous Icecream” but it was kind of bland. Which was weird. It wasn’t sweet like I expected.

The Burgers were good but heavy. The flavor of the meat was good and so was the bun but the star of the sandwich is the bacon. It was cooked perfectly and was sweet and savory at the same time. The fries were perfect as well. Crispy and not greasy at all. They give you more than enough to satisfy. The service was fast and courteous and the atmosphere was fine. The wait wasn’t long considering the place was busy. There’s not much seating but that would be the only major knock against it. I definitely recommend this restaurant. The prices are about what you’d pay on the states as well.
