The food was terrific! It was fresh made as we ordered. I had the seafood platter. Now I’m a big guy and I couldn’t finish it. Everything was cooked perfectly. I love oysters and they were perfect. They also have a full line of beer on tap.
There’s plenty of parking outside. They have a huge parking lot.
The staff greeted me and sat me quickly. My waitress was very nice. Overall it was a great experience. It’s a little pricey tho. And you figure for the money the atmosphere would be a lot better. But hey the food was good!….lol

Steamboat Bill’s is one of my favorite places to eat. The seafood is always fresh and tasty, and the service has been great every time I’ve gone. The menu isn’t very big, but I still find plenty I enjoy. They also have a bar and a fridge with desserts.

First time dinning at Steamboat Bill’s and I must say, they didn’t disappoint. The quality of the food was amazing and seasoned perfectly; definitely not bland. It’s a little pricey to dine here but you get so much on your plate that you’ll be asking for a to-go box for your lunch tomorrow.
The staff were all very friendly and professional.
There were plenty of dining areas and it never felt overcrowded or too loud. There was also a bar area that was in a side room that was playing music. Since it was separate from the dining area, there was no problem at all enjoying our meal in peace and quiet.
Overall this is definitely a great place to visit if you’re in the area.

It was very good. And soo much food. I had the captains platter, and Dear Lord! It took me 3 days to eat it. The server was super sweet, and stayed on top of everything. Refills, any extras… nothing was overlooked or missed. As always when I tell you about a restaurant, the food can be magic, but if the service is lacking then the experience is not good. This food was incredible. But the server made the dinner exceptional.

We are at the Steamboat Bill’s in Deridder. Everything was great, except my shrimp gumbo had a strong flavor of oregano in it. Being from Creole my entire life, I have never heard of anyone putting oregano in gumbo. I ate a little bit of it,but could not stomach the entire bowl.
Our overall experience was a 5. We will go back, I just won’t order gumbo. Lol

I really enjoy this place.
The food is good and surprisingly after ordering a whole meal for me and another for my wife with 2 appetizers and 2 20oz beers for myself we only blew 70 bucks for a date night not including the good tip we left.
The service was great, the waiter we had checked up on us around the clock and the food didn’t take long at all.
Music was laid back and the place wasn’t so cold you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable in shorts but also wouldn’t sweat in a long sleeve. Really liked the lighting and spacious interior.
The food is great, it was honestly reaaally good and if you wanted more seasoning there was some in the little stack of napkins and such. Again came out quickly and well cooked nice and hot. Personnel thing I dislike is how they always seem to be out of oysters when I show up but that’s just bad timing on my part which I understand so I still gave 5/5 stars.
All in all me and my wife have gone twice for date nights and it’s just a really good place, plenty of food too to fill ya, you won’t go hungry with their servings. Highly recommend.

Our kids food was great (house baked potato and shrimp etouffee ) my husband and I got the fried fish it was terrible. The person cooking it took a bite of it and said it tastes fine to me.

We were visiting Deridder for the week and ate here 2 times. The Cajun and fire grilled oysters were 5 star! Big C that cooks and cleans the oysters does an amazing job of getting them perfect! The gumbo was spicy but so very delicious! I also had the cheeseburger and it was great also! Don’t hesitate to stop in and have a great meal!

We frequently went to the Steamboat Bills in Lake Charles but due to the damage from the hurricanes, both locations remain closed. So we packed the fam up and headed to Deridder to visit the one there, which is about 45mins away. And it was well worth the drive as we have yet found anyone open in LC that cook as great as Steamboat! Catfish is the best here along with the amount of Oysters you get with the platter or Combo Plate that we normally do Oysters and Catfish. We also were VERY pleased with the Mushrooms appetizer that was enough for all 8 people(6 adults and 2 kids). We love SWEET tea and we never have to sweeten their sweet tea as it’s made just right! Also had the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo which is a reg or large bowl and had PLENTY of Chicken and Sausage. Someone else had Boiled Shrimp was very nice size and again cooked to perfection, atleast for us who eat a LOT of Shrimp all through the year. DEFINITELY worth the drive if you are craving seafood and end it with some Chocolate Cheesecake that we had or regular if you like.
