We were warned by multiple people that for the price, there are better places to eat, and in hindsight, they were right. The place tries to come off as upscale, but the tables, floors, chairs, etc, are all beaten up. We waited 10 minutes to be seated even though we had a reservation and there weren’t many people there. The calamari was greasy. The NY strip steak was pretty good, and the filet mignon was excellent. But the hamburger was way overcooked, like leather. The veggies were overcooked as well. We had ordered some pasta with the meal, but that came out after we were already done with the main course. Management gave us a free desert to compensate, and it was delicious. We actually tried a few of the deserts, and they were all fantastic. Overall, I can’t recommend Steakhouse89 based on the price and my experience. I won’t be back. Simply put, you can find better food and better ambiance for the price at the plethora of other places to eat in Sedona. Oh, and the waiter at the next table was LOUD and put his hand on my wife’s shoulder when asking her a question (and not a polite tap to get her attention). Dude.. don’t touch the customers, ever.

It’s a decent steakhouse, we went on a Friday, it was not fully occupied, hence we got lost min reservation.

It’s off the downtown, but not very far.

Food and drinks were good! They had live music .

Parking is very convenient!

Made reservations for 6:15pm, place was shockingly empty, maybe three other guests, but we’re in Sedona of course and many are out site-seeing until dark, and we did notice as we were leaving many others arriving.

We ordered and Dave took our meals down. Dave was super pleasant, kind, and just made you feel comfortable, educating us on the menu, went over the special of the evening “surf and turf” which two out of four of us ordered. Though we didn’t get one of the four beverages we ordered for my teen son, he sucked it up and drank water. We asked him we could order and he refused and we all moved on.

Dinner was lovely, food was good, I honestly would not scream to mom about packing the bags to come and eat here for the price, but it was good. Flavor great, steak I think quick to cook so outside a bit charred (maybe grill a bit on the hot side), and we had the filet mignon. The au gratin potatoes were pretty darn good, and the asparagus was from top to bottom tender. My wife’s salmon was good too and the dressing with it. All and all we truly were pleased and we are no food critics, but we’ve had dining experience around the world at some amazing great places and I’d say it’s a place to check out for sure while in Sedona.

The front lobby bathroom area, it shows some great picture what seemed to be the owner and others, some famous some not I presume which was pretty neat.

All and all we were grateful for a wonderful dinning experience and for me as a father and a husband to treat my family with moments and memories that’s the “icing on the cake!” And to conclude, the cheese cake was to die for!

Thanks Steak89 for an amazing evening during the 2024 Memorial Day weekend, and thank you all men and women that have and do fight for our freedoms because none of this would exist if we didn’t have you and your amazing sacrifices!

Horrible food well shrimp was good. They messed up the steak, brought rare but ordered medium rare. Server took the same steak back, stated cook cooked the same steak in the oven. Omg what is the world? Steak cooked in over and pay ovet 100.00s? Server was good, but the food is Horrible. Will not come again.

Dont believe the bad reviews! This place was really good! Service and food were excellent. We were seated in a cozy circle booth by the bar. Our server and bartender Destine was awesome! She made me a surprise mocktail and found out what foods were with a gluten-free option. Almost everything on the menu except for the pasta dishes are, this place is a yes! The osso-buco is fantastic!

Based off other reviews I was very hesitant about keeping my reservation. We had a 600 reservation for Saturday. We were seated promptly and our server was so fun. I had prime rib and my partner had filet mignon. It was all cooked perfectly and everything came out beyond our expectations. We have been to quite a few expensive steakhouses and this was very good for the prices.

Pretty disappointed to be honest. We had reservations for 1830 on a Saturday night and were seated right away. We looked over the menu and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down. Onion rings were VERY greasy (more so then normal) the size of them made it hard to eat. Obviously you cut them up into bite size pieces and this made a lot of the breading soggy. We ordered the house salad and split it between between the two of us. It was okay. Something was off with the vinaigrette. Lastly I ordered a ribeye (medium rare) and my wife ordered fillet mignon (medium). After waiting 55 minutes from the time we ordered to receiving our steaks mine was way over cooked (medium well to well done) my wife was perfectly cooked. No way I was asking for another steak. Didn’t want to wait another 30 plus minutes. Overall for the price it seemed like the restaurant was stretching to be higher end but definitely lacked in some areas…

Dinner was ok, the lamb was very salty the mashed potatoes were ok the mac and cheese was kind of bland my husband had the ribeye steak and he said it was just ok, too much pepper, I ordered a gin martini and it was too watered down the ceasar salad was dry but my burrata salad was the best part of dinner. The service was there but it wasnt the best. Restaurant was overpriced for what it was after hearing from everyone that this was the best place in town we were let down. The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because there was a singer that played very well and sang the songs just right, he made our night otherwise the rating would be lower.

Our waiter/bartender, Destiny, was amazing and so was their tequila mule. They were friendly and accommodating however both steaks the filet mignon and the ribeye were raw when served and we sent them back and they came back still raw and the ribeye was chewy and fatty. We asked for the tres leche on the menu and they didnt have it. Its a beautiful place, for the price you pay, you should get an edible meal and ours wasnt. The only reason they are getting any stars is because of Destiny. They did the best they could under the circumstances. My opinion, get a real chef in the restaurant and business will boom. They had 3 customers on a Friday night.

From prior reviews I would assume that our lackluster meal was due to COVID-19 and possible shortages. My recommendation is to hold off on eating here for some time. One of our party had previously eaten here and raved about the food, so it was disappointing to go out to eat for the first time in months only to be dissatisfied. The vegetable sides and the charcuterie board were the best part. I ordered the grilled shrimp that was described as coming with a warm corn salsa. When it arrived there was a red sauce along the bottom of the plate, and when I tasted it I was surprised to discover it was Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. Also, the other members of my party wanted to order a ribeye, but it was unavailable. I’m sure this place was fantastic pre-pandemic.
