Steakburger is one of those places that you root for because it’s classically cool. It has a legitimate 18-hole mini golf course! The desserts are good – but it’s hard to screw up ice cream and syrup. The ice cream seems more ice than cream, however. Beyond this, the food is not that great. They use cheap ingredients and employ teenagers who are nice, but don’t care about quality. And, whatever you do, no matter how awesome the coupon, do not – under any circumstances – eat breakfast there. Gross. Just have your birthday parties there for mini-golf and ice cream. That’s what they do well.

I grew up in Hazel dell, and hadn’t eaten at Steakburger a whole lot. But wanted to take my kids for some fun! The wait wasn’t that bad, however, the girl at the counter was sidetracked. I ordered a burger and onion rings for me, and Jr. burgers for my 2 kids. $25 for fries I could wring the grease out of, my burger was dripping oil, my kids burgers were dripping oil and my onion rings were hard as rocks. When the girl brought me my ranch 20min after I asked for it, I told her my issue, she acted correctly and went and got the owner…. Instead of him being graceful and offering my money back considering none of the food was hardly touched, he defended his overly greasy food because he cooked it fresh. BLAH BLAH BLAH I don’t care if it was fresh if it was made incorrectly and dripping oil!!! At that point I didn’t even want to take my kids golfing, I would have been much happier paying for better food, at a better price at the McDonalds next door.

The food was pretty good. The restaurant was a bit run down. The mini golf wasn’t the best course ever. But with the amount of rain here it was acceptable. The man working at the mini golf area was really nice and was talking to us a lot.

Have lived in Vancouver 10 years and decided to give Steakburger a try, ordered two burgers, fries, and onion rings, nothing spectacular. After waiting 20 minutes and watching multiple customers get their food I inquired about my order. Turns out my order was never processed at the counter. I asked for a refund and they obliged, but a 30 minute ordeal for two burgers was not worth it. The two young girls running the counter were more interested and distracted by flirting with every male under 20 that entered. Not recommended.

WOW!!!! I cant believe good ol steakburger is closing?? What I really cant believe is it is being demolished so Vancouver can have yet ANOTHER strip mall and chain store coffee and mcdonalds!! Seriously people…… From the hazledell area to camas there are dozens of empty, abandoned, and available sites for this type of crap! What a waste of a such a great family place!! I have taken my daughter and her friends there for yrs. We will miss it. I know for a fact we will not be eating at mcdonalds, never do! And GEEEEZ, we really dont need another drive up coffee place. There are half empty strip malls everywhere, now we get another one! It will be full for a yr or two, then they will raise the lease payment, forcing the small business out. Then we will have another half empty mall! Wasteful business decisions are cluttering up our little vantucky with more and more thrown up buildings, with chain businesses… It would be nice to see some unique shops in there if it must be done. Hopefully it wont look like a concrete slab when they are finished? Maybe they can throw in some color besides the GOLDEN ARCHES of mcDs? YUK! Sorry to see Steakburger closing.
