I don’t get to this side of town often but when I do I stop in. This location is very well managed and run. Clean and always fresh to order. The owner really cares about the buildings appearance and the food. It shows I stop in every time I can. Well done!

I’ve only had Steak n Shake once before. It was really good. This time I ordered the same item and it was super disappointing. I ordered the large chili cheese fries. There were half as much as the first time. It was half full and definitely not worth over $8. It’s hard to tell from the pictures how empty the container is. I mixed it and moved it around to show this was only half full. I hadn’t taken a bite yet. Not sure what happened, but I wouldn’t go back if that’s how the service is. Very inconsistent.

I ordered a burger, fries, and a large soft drink. It cost close to $24 with a 15% tip. The food I got was amazing. The burger is out of this world. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these weren’t spectacular, though better then all the fast food chains, including five guys. I’ll have to try the other fries they have. The soft drink I ordered was ginger ale. The mix wasn’t offnas far as I could tell. Over all I had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere got two stars because it’s small and unexciting. But if your going to some place like this for the atmosphere, it’s going to be the people that you bring with you that will enhance it.
They have food for kids here too, grilled cheese sandwichs, different kinds of hot dogs, and they even have a BLT. Oh and chicken sandwichs as well.
Overall, if you want a fantastic burger, come here.

Too bad they had to get one star… this place is disgusting. There is only kids working. One was using profanity on the grill. The one adult older lady and she had on a flower shirt. No uniform! I never got my food. I ordered at 109pm and at 137 I still had no food . I had to go ask where my food. The guy said you didn’t get it yet!! The drive thru gets all the attention!!! Please don’t waste your time this location is not OK. Also no ice in the ice machine either

It’s 7:57 at night and this store seems like it’s closed. There’s no one to help you. What a terrible service, really. And to top it off, they’re very slow in delivering your order. I would never come back here again. I don’t recommend it to anyone.

Walked in and ordered food. Watched thwm sit there on their phones, touching their face, laughing for (no exaggeration) 10 minutes before they realized we placed an order. Still proceeded to do nothing and waste 5 minutes to make 2 shakes and 2 fries. We were the only ones in the store AND drive thru…smh

Not sure what restaurant those bad reviews were eating at, or maybe they caught it on a particularly bad day– but there is literally nothing wrong with this restaurant. Ordering was simple, the food was punctual, and very, very delicious. It’s a burger joint– you will not enjoy this establishment if you do not like burgers.
The diner was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. Simple decor, I think they expect more people to use the drive thru so it’s nothing fancy.
Customer service was just okay. I think there was only 3 people working back there, so don’t expect them to wait on you hand and foot. But if you needed something, they were plenty helpful. No notes.

Had not been to a Steak and Shake in a long while, so i think i was setting my expectations a bit high when i visited this location at the River Pointe shopping center. Was a bit disappointed at the lack of attention from the staff; ordering is done thru kiosks (a la McDonald’s) and the food took a long time to get to our table. Prices seemed a bit high as well in relation to the serving size. This might have been one bad day and not a typical day at this restaurant, but I’m not sure about making a return visit in the near future…

I placed my order through the Steak ‘n Shake website, and they processed the payment directly. Not only did they charge me extra for modifications, but they completely messed up the order so I wasn’t able to eat my lunch.
When I called the store to request a refund—since I couldn’t eat what was delivered—the employee kept telling me to contact DoorDash and repeatedly hung up on me until they just stopped answering the phone altogether.
DoorDash support also confirmed that Steak ‘n Shake is responsible, as they handled the payment in addition to not making the order correctly.
DoorDash even attempted to contact the store on my behalf with no luck.
Now I’m left having to dispute the charge and I lost my entire lunch break over this. The staff clearly need better management. Absolutely terrible service!
