Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.
Chain known for steakburgers & milkshakes offering a dinerlike space with retro flair.

Reviews
The biscuits are genuinely excellent—fluffy, warm, and clearly made with care. I’m eating keto right now, so I ordered their breakfast bowl with eggs, sausage, onions, and cheese. It was fantastic: hot, flavorful, and surprisingly light. Next time I’m adding peppers, because you can tell the ingredients are cooked fresh and not pulled from a warmer.
If you want a solid, freshly cooked breakfast in Springfield—especially if you thought Steak ’n Shake stopped doing breakfast—this Glenstone location is absolutely worth the stop.
I called and a guy Dakota (I think was his name) answered the phone. Said I had an order that was missing stuff, he said “ok no problem give me just one second”. I waited on mute for 29 minutes before the phone hung up.
Called back and the same man answered the phone. I explained the situation again and explained that it was no big deal but now I’m a little frustrated. He said they can’t do refunds and I can come pick up the 2 items. I couldn’t do that, I have 4 kids under 8, and it’s almost 9pm by this time now after all of that. Said there was nothing he could do.
Went to another location the same night, they were amazing! Told them what happened and they said they CAN authorize a refund from their end.
Just pretty frustrated with the situation.
Wasn’t anything crazy but turned into a whole thing because of Dakota and the manager who couldn’t talk to me on the phone.
