7PM on a Saturday night. The manger closed off 2/3 of the restaurant to seating and had us all sitting in a very small space. Clearly they were trying to avoid cleaning the larger dining area. Poor management and a poor customer experience. Avoid this place.

I recently visited Steak ’n Shake, and overall, it was a good experience. The food was tasty and lived up to expectations, and the prices were very fair for what you get. However, the new setup without servers takes some getting used to. It felt a bit odd, and I think adding more signs or instructions around the ordering process would really help customers navigate things more easily. If they can make the self-service system a bit clearer, it would be even better. But for good food at a good price, it’s still worth a visit!

Absolutely inedible. The bun was soggy and the fries tasted like they were cooked yesterday. The dog wouldn’t even eat them. The restroom was disguting which is always a direct reflection of the kitchen. NEVER AGAIN. We didn’t even want to have our food recooked bc we knew they would mess with it. Save your money.

Had a late lunch here on a Sunday. Plenty of tables open, while we had attempted Mel’s Hard Luck dinner that is closed on Sunday and then tried Cakes and Cream line was out the door and no seating. Steak n Shake came through for us. Food was great, quick easy ordering. Kids meals are a GREAT price. I had the #1 and a Reeses shake. Floors could use a good steam cleaning.

The food is good when you can get it, which is not often. As others have mentioned, the hours are inconsistent with their website/Google listing. I’ve had to call ahead every time I go just to see if they happen to be open. Just called at 7:50p on a Friday and they closed at 7p. Called ahead recently to see if they were open and when they said yes I drove over and the cashier had to check with the manager to see if they were staying open. I MIGHT contribute this to it being the down season in Branson if they weren’t already doing this before the busy season ended. They of course don’t offer the courtesy of posting an updated “Winter Hours” paper schedule on their door because then they’d be obligated to follow it. When you add in that they keep half the seating roped off and the dim lighting, it’s just not a great experience. I honestly wish they’d just officially close down because they’re so unreliable and I’m tired of the disappointment.

Best deal on burger and fries anywhere. Back again 4/1/2018, service was fine. Waitress brought refills without asking. Best shakes. Back again 9/29/2018, burgers and fries still good.

The place is clean, but you order at the counter, get your own refills, pick up your own food … So there is basically no service.
The food was ok, but the buns were soggy and fell apart while trying to eat. This doesn’t happen at other s/s restaurants.

Been coming to Branson for 50 years eating steak ‘n Shake for at least that as well. This location is right off of 76 and took the granddaughters there along with some cousins and the kids meals were a great hit. It is not the steak ‘n Shake of yesterday year, but their new service model seems to be working for them. I prefer a waiter or waitress rather than the fast food style, order at the counter, blah blah blah, but the meals were good, hot fresh and reasonably priced.
