You know, sometimes you just stumble upon a place that goes above and beyond, and that’s exactly what I found at this particular Steak ‘n Shake. While all three locations in Champaign, and honestly, Steak ‘n Shakes across the country, are pretty solid, this one truly sets itself apart. There’s a palpable dedication from the team here; you can tell the employees put in that extra effort, crafting each meal with genuine care.
The shake, as always, was incredible, but today it was described as nothing short of perfect. And the burgers? They managed to taste even better than they looked, which honestly, I didn’t think was possible. Having been to countless Steak ‘n Shakes, I’ve always appreciated their classics, but I finally got to try the Bitcoin burger today. And, while all their burgers are delicious, the Bitcoin burger has officially stolen the top spot for me. It’s those little things, you know? Even the mustard was spread just right, a perfect amount in every bite – it’s the attention to those small details that really elevates the experience. (Also a little hidden info if you’re still reading…the Bitcoin burger comes with $5 in Bitcoin 😉 I’m seriously impressed and already looking forward to my next visit. Champaign, you’ve got a gem here!

Haven’t ordered a milkshake from Steak n’ Shake in a while, but I decided to try it again and I enjoyed it. I got the Reese’s chocolate peanut butter milkshake, which tasted fantastic. The service seemed kind of slow, but overall I liked my experience here.

I vowed to never return when they got rid of servers. Well I returned and the food was outstanding. Didn’t like the the self serve ordering and because it was slow inside they cooked everything to order which took a little longer than usual but it was fresh and even though it’s not set up for the food to be served to the table the cook brought everything out.
I love the food and because of this experience I’m putting them back on my weekely/bi weekly rotation

We ordered three chicken strip meals. First our order was prepared incorrectly, making us have to go through the long drive through line twice (dining room is closed). Then when we got home three of the chicken strips were still raw in the middle, therefore inedible. I am disappointed. I’m still giving two starts because at least the fries were okay. I wouldn’t recommend anyone order the chicken strips from this location.

Had such a positive experience with a friendly restaurant team at this Steak n Shake. After completing our order I got our drinks. Bumped into a booth and sent my drink flying onto the floor. Asked for a mop to clean things up and the team member at the grill insisted that he help. It also made me notice how incredibly clean the inside of the restaurant is. The kiosk ordering system is efficient and the reduced staff is doing a wonderful job managing a high volume of orders. The food was great and we had plenty of space to take care of our 3 kids and enjoy our lunch.

Yeah, I mean Steak ‘n Shake’s are okay, right? This one is pretty much like every other. A little on the dirty side, but no more than any other I’ve been to.
UPDATE 2023: The checkout process is totally contactless meaning you order on consoles when you walk in. There’s no table service – they just calle your name and you walk up to get it yourself.

Food was pretty mid. We went in an hour before closing and we paid for drinks, all the machines were off and no tea in the dispensers. We told the people thank you but they didn’t respond.
