Steak ‘n Shake, a classic American brand, was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois by Gus Belt who pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milkshakes. For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word steak stood for steakburger. The term shake stood for hand-dipped milkshakes. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. Today, Steak ‘n Shake remains the better burger leader, serving premium 100% beef steakburgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, thin crispy fries, and more. Steakburgers are made without preservatives or artificial ingredients, topped with fresh produce, and always hand-crafted to order.

Chain known for steakburgers & milkshakes offering a dinerlike space with retro flair.

I had a problem with my kiosk order. I added chili to my meal, but the kiosk subbed my fries out for the chili. Needless to say, I wanted both.

A helpful employee by the name of Karen saw my confusion, and she immediately rectified the mixup by bringing me fries, along with a nice attitude and an apology.

After I dug into my meal, I realized that there was an issue with the way the kiosk processed my Steakburger order, but I didn’t want to make it appear like I was taking advantage of the place. So, I said nothing about the kiosk issue(s) relative to processing my food order, but that’s the reason for the 4 Rating on the food.

On the way out, Jason the manager was throwing salt down on the icey sidewalk. Again, with a friendly demeanor and a nice attitude, even though it was crazy-cold that day.

Jason, and Karen, are great ambassadors for the Steak N Shake brand, and I hope they get recognized. Kudos to both of them!

Everyone here was very professional, kind and polite. This restaurant is clean. The food was perfectly delicious. The food looked appetizing as well. The drinks from the fountain were crisp and sweet. I didn’t get a milkshake this time around, but they looked amazing on everyone’s table. Lots of windows, open dining area and well stocked. Definitely returning.

First, it’s not easy or obvious to find out how you’re supposed to claim the $5 in BTC, would be nice if they detailed the entire process somewhere easy to find. I only figured it out after multiple internet searches.
You can scan your recipt at some site after buying a “bitcoin burger”. But to redeam your $5 in Bitcoin you have to jump through a lot of hoops. Install some crypto app, give them your Social Security number, scan your face and ID. Give your full address and cell phone number. Hey that’s all you have to do to get a whoppin $5. Sorry, but it’s not free if you have to give up that much personal information. I got $300 opening a bank account with that same info. This is such a dumb “promo”, thumbs down SteakNShake for putting this garbage on their menu. If you want to promote crypto currency promote it for what it was intended for, anonymous, private, Person to Person transactions. Not this intrusive data harvesting Sham. How much does SteakNShake get paid for every sucker who uploads thier “Biometrics”? That’s the real question here.

I’ve eaten at Steak n Shake for years. I enjoyed having breakfast with all the meals that you had. I was sorry that you stopped having breakfast meals.
I would love to see breakfast to come back to Steak n Shake.
I had lunch and dinner there also but breakfast was the best.
If there would be a vote for breakfast I would be the first to vote.

I personally haven’t been in a steak n shake in few years the experience wasn’t the best. The family dine in the setup to order yourself and wait to be called and not deal with servers. I can get my own stuff not waiting on drink refills. I enjoyed the food and service was moving fast! We may make this a once a week stop because the price for family was under 55$

Hadn’t had steak n shake in years. Soundtrack was lit I heard some Sade playing and felt at home. Nephew talked up Tallow fries, they the burgers and shakes were top notch. Staff was great, efficient and professional. If I had more than 2 thumbs I’d put em’ up.

We are always happy with the food. The atmosphere was lacking because the floors were dingy grey, caked with grease and dirt. Looked like they had not been scrubbed in a very long time. There was also trash and food on the floor. I would have left because of how gross it looked, but my autistic son wanted to go here for his 21st birthday. While I understand the convenience of the kiosks to order, not everyone is comfortable using them. It would be nice to have someone available to take your order. Also, not a fan of having to scan your receipt to get a drink. I’m sure there is a reason, but it was confusing.

Tasty food. I’m glad this one is still open. They used to have a bunch of coupons, but apparently they don’t do that anymore. Milkshake happy hour from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays is a great deal. Their Frisco melt is very good and it’s been a while since I’ve had one. Too bad they sold out to RFK Jr’s nonsense.

There is no service here. You order on a screen that makes it convoluted and takes too long, and I’m very used to tech. Then about a half hour later (yes, that long) they yell out your name. Every table was dirty, so we chose the least dirty and I cleaned it with napkins. Food was thoroughly unimpressive, and I used to love their hamburgers. Fries were somehow cold after just getting them. Overall, really lousy and I won’t be back.
