One of the few fast food restaurants to have a massive GLOW UP in the last year. Their food quality has gotten massively better, delicious hot burgers & real beef tallow fries – great real milkshakes & dining room was new, clean and fun. Only downside was having to use kiosk to order but really not a big deal.
The jars of beef tallow for sale may seem out of place but they are actually really good and priced better than the grocery store. Works awesome as a high temp cooking oil for pan frying.

Every time I come to Frankfort I make sure to eat here it is my absolute favorite burger place. The cook gets the burgers nice and thin and caramelized it’s always perfect, I get the garlic burger and the tiny shoestring fries. Thank you steak and shake! Perfect classic burgers! You all are the best and have an amazing staff!

I came thru the drive thru about 30 mins before close and was expecting somewhat edible food but was I mistaken! I was served hard buns and dry hard burgers my garlic burger had absolutely no sauce or garlic in it at all, I did not even receive all of what I had ordered so now I have to spend more money on a second dinner for the night thank you so much steak and shake for the terrible experience!

Once you are familiar with their self serve set-up and drink scan, it’s fine. Be aware of this. It will save you frustration. I don’t fault the staff for corporate changes. The food was hot, fast, and good.

Who ever had the thought that it was a good idea to get rid of any resemblance os service, needs to be fired because restaurants are supposed to be part of the service industry. Ordering from a kiosk would be fine, but to completely ignore the customer when they have a question is unacceptable. And I’m not talking about just acknowledging your presence, but acting too busy to help you… I’m talking about them refusing to even look in your direction for at least 5 minutes while trying to get their attention the entire time Then you finally place your order, go to the self-service drink fountain, only to find them out of large cups, and wasting another 5 minutes to get someone to restock them. We even tried stopping an employee as they walked past, and they still acted like we were invisible. Oh well… Another once good store, gone to hell by corporate greed I guess. Won’t be back.

Asked for extra Frisco sauce, you have to pay extra… asked for extra pickles…you have to pay, asked for chili instead of French fries.. you have to pay…. No waiters/waitresses… kiosk to take order… one employee is only one to speak and he wasn’t Mr. Personally… save your $$$ don’t eat here.

Not sure why this location has such a bad rating. My husband and I have went a few times here recently and the food has been hot and fresh , and the service has been great every time.

The food was good. Staff seemed a little too casual and comfortable. Two staff members kissing and hugging, not a good look. Overall, good burgers and hot fries.

Stopped here for lunch, spent $12 + tip for a combo and a bottle water. The guy hands me a delicious hamburger, cold hard french fries and a bottle of water that had been crushed with 1/3 of the water missing and the label falling off. When I asked him if I could have a different bottle of water, he “initially” responded that it was the last bottle of water. I refused the damaged 2/3 full bottle of water and asked for a cup instead to get a soda. He then responded that he could get me another bottle of water but that he’d have to go ALL THE WAY BACK to the cooler to open a new case of water just to get one bottle. I wonder if white customers are met with this same level of poor service.

I have to say that normally I love steak ‘n shake however since they are trying to keep up with the industry of doing the door dash and whatnot they also streamlined their service which and I’ll actuality makes it very uncomfortable. There’s no personality there’s no individuality there’s no want in feeling like you’re in a school lunch line. The food options have been cut to maybe a fourth of what they used to offer and what they now offer has gone up by at least 25%. And so this particular customer won’t be coming back anytime soon.
