We LOVE steak and shake. They have switched to tallow to make their fries which is so much better for you and still tastes amazing. Food is always fabulous and the shakes are wonderful. Its a cool, almost self-service setup where you order on large, user-friendly screens. Makes you feel like you can take your time and look through everything. Then, they call you name when its ready. They also isually have a friendly greeter. Prices are so reasonable, too! Our whole family including kids, love Steak and Shake.

First off, you now have to order on a computer screen for yourself. Then we paid for the large cups and found out they didn’t have any. We told someone and they just said they were out and since we were dining in we could just refill. Now you have to take a receipt up to the drink station and scan it just to get it to work for a refill. They don’t bring the food to you. They just call your name out to come get it. This is NOTHING like steak n’ shake used to be. They ask if you want to tip when you order. Why would I tip when I have to get everything myself? I’ll never go back again.

On Saturday January, 17th., 2026. I went, with my daughter, to this restaurant to get someone lunch. I haven’t been to shake and shake a while so I didn’t realize the major changes they did to their service. In other words there is no service anymore. You have to go to a self-service kiosk to do your order, because there’s no receptionist there. Then you have to pay for it right there and then they expect you to give them a tip on the order, even though you’re doing the job of the waitress/ waiter, who is not there anymore. Then you have to scan a qr code at the self service drink station to get your drinks and refills, which is a joke. Then you have to go and pick up your own food at the counter. What the hell happened here? Also, they don’t have cottage cheese anymore, which is the main reason.My daughter wanted to go there that kind of sucked and honestly, the food wasn’t that great. She did like the shake, so I’ll give them credit for that. other than that i definitely won’t be going there anymore unless you give me a discount to do those jobs that I just mentioned above. Why am I paying you a full price and I have to be my own waiter? It makes no sense.

Steak and Shake has always been a childhood favorite growing up. It reminds me of being with family and eating good food with a shake.
The food is okay, not what I remember, but the people are fantastic.
They do need somebody to tell newcomers that you have to order on the kiosk, and they don’t wait on you anymore. There is a sign, but it is pretty small.
Overall a pretty great experience. I wish they went back to human interaction for things instead of screens and scanners.

This was my first time inside since the removal of table service. It works good for to go orders but I’d rather have a server. It’s like a cheaper version but less friendly version of 5 guys without the peanuts. There was a hostess to help me through my first online order and that was appreciated. I think it was inappropriate to ask for a tip for this kind of ordering and she was watching me so I felt obligated . I was disappointed the patty melt is no longer offered. Food was good and got and large size onion rings was plentiful. To go shakes seem small.

Best milkshake hands down it looks like a ” work of art”,and can feed 2 people! Great personable staff, atmosphere everything. Very clean, wonderful place to take everyone!

I ordered the garlic steak burger, a usual for me. Friendly service, but what I received for my order was a sad excuse for a garlic burger. The bun had NO garlic spread on top of it and it was dry as heck. I asked for extra garlic spread and there was NONE on top of the bun, and virtually none actually on the bun. It was the worst, driest burger I’ve ever had at steak n shake. Check out the photos for how they advertise the burger, and how it came.

We haven’t been inside a Steak ‘n Shake in years – what a wonderfully incredible change!! This store was super clean and now they have ordering kiosks and a drink refill station. It’s truly a fast food place now! Someone calls out your name when your order is ready so I’d suggest having a little fun with that!

Garlic steak burger was good The service not so much. we ordered a steak burger without cheese . Once we returned the order, she took the burger with cheese and came out with a new one. The new one wasn’t correct either the fries were very cold… couldn’t finish. There was a hole in the bottom of my milkshake….. great. 70 something dollars for us to argue over a messed up order can’t recommend. Hope I don’t crave steak and shake again.
