Just steak n shake has always been bad with time as far as making food but that can be attributed to the fact that Altamonte is a busy area, and there are few places open late. However over the last couple of days add a completely unreasonable unprofessional series of experiences with the store, specifically the owner Robb. Saturday night I came in pretty late and waited roughly an hour to get food from this location. While the staff were friendly it seemed that some of the lower ranking employees we’re either overwhelmed or untrained or simply angry in some cases as one of the cooks walked out in the middle of what appeared to be a late night Rush. After finally getting my food I left going to get home and discover that the frisco melt sandwiches might as well have been a chunk of burnt grease wrapped in paper. Steak and shake fries typically don’t travel well but I only live a mile down the street, I made it home in less than ten minutes. They were completely soggy completely mushed by the time I made the short trip home. My wife and I were both disgusted with the quality of the food and we figured it was just because they were having issues with so many people being there late at night. At one point there were probably about 20 people waiting in the dining room to get their food literally no one had food. Also there was no one in the Drive-Thru so that’s no excuse. The next day I called and spoke with the management they were very nice and professional informed me they would have to call the owner, I honestly wanted a refund at this point but he would only allow them to remake the food which I reluctantly accepted. I received the food relatively quickly can I assume since it was handed to me by what I think was a assistant manager that they might have taken some care considering this was a remake of a messed up order going to arrive home a few minutes later to discover that this was not the case at all. I was handling all this in between church and meeting the in-laws afterwards for the quick stop at the house and steak and shake I did not have time to call and go back that day which was Sunday January 25th 2026. The next day after working a 14 hour day I stop that steak and shake with photos of the food with the receipt in the picture showing how bad the remade food was it was absolutely horrible the second time completely burnt to a crisp Frisco melt they forgot the chicken tenders all together the fries were absolutely undercooked and we were giving no condiments napkins or anything. I stopped in and show assistant manager photos of how bad the order was with the receipt in the frame in every picture as proof and she again again had to call the owner, apparently he has to okay every single little thing and she informed me that I would have to call him wrote his number on my receipt. I purchased a shake and was about finished with it I tried the number a few times while I was finishing my shake and a man I walked in the store and approached me and introduced himself as Rob the owner of the franchise. Immediately was extremely defensive and condescending said that they remain the food and that’s all he was going to do for me he didn’t care what kind of picture I had essentially he was accusing me of being up to something I’m not sure what as I was in person every time at the store. Quality of the food which was messed up was clearly documented in photos the wait at the restaurant was clearly documented in photos from the first night I can understand why they do not have any competent employees up add this restaurant because who would want to work for a person like this, completely unprofessional. He said his little piece took my receipt off the table and threw it away as if I was going to attempt to use it again, for what I’m not sure. He then walked away I took a moment to finish my shake and gather my coat I saw him on the other side of the restaurant talking to an individual I had seen working the first night I had an issue with the food actually it was the guy who walked off the line he was looking very bad

Place was clean, my order arrived quickly. The hamburger was quite tasty 8/10. I also really liked the chili cheese fries 8/10. Onion rings could have been better 7/10.

To start off, Me and my dad would go to steak n shake for lunch pre pandemic area probably more than 5 yrs ago and we used to love it and we NEVER had any issues then. However, I was working at my neighbors Wednesday 2/25/26 and he offered to buy us Burger Fi for lunch, I said naw, that’s too expensive, so then he offerd Steak n Shake and we aggreed. He placed the order around 12p, we received it around 1235p from door dash. Before I ate it I noticed the meat was different from years back, it was thicker and softer than from back then. We were done eating by 1250p and back to work, around 3p it felt like there was an atomic bomb going off in my stomach, I was burping like crazy. By 4p I was throwing it up, I couldn’t keep it down. Luckily my neighbor helped me load up and I rushed home to continue throwing up and have severe diharrea, cold sweats, and nothing would stay down, I would constantly drink water but would throw it back up, Finally my last time throwing up was at 11p and I was able to sleep through the night. I am a little queezy the next morning and out of energy but not throwing up any more. I asked my neighbors how they were doing and they said they were ok, we all got double cheese burgers and fries but the only difference in my order was I drank Dr Pepper. I will never do that again and hope no one else has to go through that. I should have accepted the Burger Fi offer.

Steak ’n Shake has always been one of our go-to spots for a sweet treat, and today’s visit reminded us why. We tried the Nutella shake, which was rich, creamy, and absolutely amazing. The KitKat shake was also really good, with that satisfying crunch blended into the smooth ice cream, and the Orange Creamsicle shake was refreshingly sweet with the perfect balance of citrus and cream.

Their milkshakes have always been some of the best, and while we usually grab them through the drive-thru in standard styrofoam cups, today we decided to sit inside. The kids loved seeing the shakes served in their signature tall glasses with whipped cream and toppings—it made the whole experience feel extra special.

We did miss the Biscoff milkshake, which we tried at a different location and instantly fell in love with. Sadly, this location was out of it today. Still, with flavors like these, it’s always a treat we look forward to enjoying again and again.

I got to steak n shake expecting to wait a bit for food, but it came out so fast. I loved the customer service of repeating my order back, giving me my total and soon as I get to the window somebody was there to greet me and take my credit card. Soon as the receipt was handed back to me food was done along with my shake! The best part is I open the bag and see my burger looks just like you would see in a commercial and then the food hot and tasty! This is my own review I felt like leaving because I was impressed.

Food took an hour to come out and everything was cold. It seemed like my food had been sitting out on the counter for who knows how long. Staff all seemed to hate being there and everyone had an attitude. I’ve never had such poor service at Steak n Shake before. My sister sent her food back to have it redone because it was cold, but they never brought her food out.

Me and my family came in and we ordered off the app and paid. It was slow getting our food and when we received are food it wasnt hot. It had been sitting a little long we expected a name call but heard nothing. At the time we were the only ones in the building and still receiving cold food. That’s not the steak and shake team I know. They can do better or maybe hire more help not sure. But thank you for your time. I guess.

So I tried Steak & Shake for the first time tonight and boy oh boy! We ordered our food and drinks through the kiosk which was super convenient. As we proceeded to get our drinks, we noticed none of the fountain drinks were working. There was a note on top saying that the only drinks available were Sprite, Hi-C, sweet & unsweetened tea, lemonade & Dasani water bottles – LIES, bc nothing came out of those! As I poured myself some sweet tea, it was pretty much done, literally drops. I asked the employee if they’d be refilling and she says yes. We finally got our food & the fries were cold! I took a bite out of the burger and that was also cold but I was starving, so I took a few more bites. Finally the tea was done & I poured myself a little bit…. Worst tea ever, super bitter & grainy! No care in the world to make sure the rest of the drinks were ready. The whole vibe was off and the food was horrible. If I can rate from 1-10, I’d for sure give them a -10! I wouldn’t go there again even if they paid me

Placed online order and we were told would it would be ready in 5-10 minutes. We were there in 10 mins and the food was ready. 45 minutes later still waiting on the shakes. We have been told several times they are coming out in just a minute but have yet to see them. The shining star was the cook that replaced our fries because we waited so long. He is amazing!
