This gem of a restaurant, The Steak Knife has been owned and run by the Roth family for over 50 years. Guy, Bobby and Sue Roth run this classic New Orleans like you are family. The food is great, service is prompt and excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful and fun. Theres a laid back vibe, which is perfect for dining. Run to this restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

0 Stars! Terrible owner. I booked a party for 22 for a dance for a certain menu. He confirmed it himself twice with me. And his employee called two days ago to confirm the menu which included a salad, steak/fish and dessert. The kids were told dessert wasn’t included. When I called the owner was very rude! He didn’t even try to fix it!

I know they have a die-hard following, and I finally got to go there after hearing people talk about it for decades. The most obvious feature is the katywompus dining room floor, no one ever mentioned that. ♂️. Chairs and tables aren’t even close to level. Food, drinks, and service were decent, but nothing extraordinary. The remoulade was not at all to my liking, just tasted like french mustard.

It is easy to forget the Steak Knife amidst the other, newer spots along Harrison (and no visibility in the online reservation apps). That is a shame. We had a lovely dinner here last night. The service was perfect. The atmosphere including the live piano was really nice. And we snagged a reservation for 5 on 15 minutes’ notice on a Friday night. My steak was just a bit over cooked but solid nonetheless. Apps and desserts were very tasty. I left wondering why we had waited so long since our last visit here. Won’t make that mistake again.

We recently enjoyed a truly great dining experience at the Steak Knife Restaurant. The menu is simple and the steaks are memorable. Our server Brett could not have been more accommodating as are all of the other long term employees.
The food here is consistently great and the management was attentive to our every needs.
This long established restaurant has a spacious dining room that is acoustically pleasant. The tables are not crowded on top of each other like a lot of other venues. A normal conversation can be had without straining to hear.
Once you spend an evening ar the Steak Knife you will be returning again and again.
Don’t forget to finish off your visit with their famous Brandy Alexander Freeze… it’s delectable.

Customer service when entering was very underwhelming. Took a while for someone to greet us. Seemed as though the owners didn’t care, maybe because we didn’t look the part. Fried eggplant had no flavor. Steak was pretty good, besides it being a little on the salty side. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. If it wasn’t for her I’m not sure we would go back.
