For some reason, the sandwich is now a goopy mess. They even give you a wipe for your hands! The problem for me is the new bun. The crust on the bread is so …

Food was very well made, full of flavor and very nice portion size. Both me and my partner were full with the loaded fries and a regular sandwich. My recommendation would be to add more variety sandwiches I think having an avocado option will definitely elevate the experience. I do recommend people giving this a try if you want a very well made sandwich and good dining experience.

Came in to try the new and improved menu and was delighted by the changes! Delicious and a huge improvement overall. The old cheesesteaks could sometimes be a bit dry, but that’s completely changed with the new cheese! The updated steak and cheese portions make this feel like an amazing deal. I love the new combo option, and the semolina bread is absolutely the right choice. I could honestly eat just the bread and be happy! On top of that, the staff was wonderful. Friendly, welcoming, and they made the whole experience even better. Will definitely be back!

Had a great experience – I ordered 5 large grand escapes + fries. The new semolina roll was so good and the sandwiches came out quick, even with my large order. The person at the counter was also super helpful with ordering. Would definitely go back and recommend to others!

Two things I noticed upon arrival, and I’ve been here in the past before.
1. Store has been remodeled and is extremely clean. This is definitely different from what it had been before.
2. New menu, way more meat on the subs. I got a grand escape with mayo lettuce tomato which I like, but isn’t traditional. That’s just a personal preference. it was just me so I got the 6 inch cheesesteak. The meat that they use tasted great and was not grissly, it was tender and full of beef flavor. my only complaint was that there was so much meat that it would not fit in a 6 inch bun. I think they would benefit for moving from a 6 inch to a seven or an 8 inch bun. For $9.99, this was a heck of a deal.
I am excited as to what they are going to do with this concept as I think it has the potential to be a signature cheesesteak place across the country like it used to be. I think all the comments are being read by the owner so he sees what people really want but also balances what his franchisees need.

I used to love steak escape in all the malls, airport and have had many of them across the country when traveling at there peak. I tried a few weeks ago the “East Coast” roll, it was hard, almost stale like. I didn’t enjoy, I went in today for lunch and wanted to give a second chance. I got the “Midwest” roll which was much better. My Steakhouse cheese steak with Cooper sharp was great! I think I like it better than provolone but also love provolone. I also got the totally loaded fries. That was disappointing. It’s weird to say because I love bacon but it was drowning in bacon, I missed the old days of the cheddar cheese and ranch. The receipt even said extra ranch but I could barely taste any of the ranch and I think you might have put the sharp cheese on it as well actually it was hard to tell I couldn’t get to the bottom for so much bacon. The loaded fries were just off, didn’t enjoy eating it, big quantity but way too much bacon. I also got an unsweet tea. For lunch I spent $18.47. I think it’s too much for lunch. I think the sub prices are fine. Something that’s a little off-putting and I hate to even complain about it as I am a tipper and believe of taking care of the service industry. But asking for a tip in the Drive-Thru? What is the thought behind this? I know tipping culture is everywhere but we shouldn’t have to tip for everything, especially after paying almost $19 for lunch through the drive-thru. I have enjoyed watching the process of the founders son trying to kickstart and applaud that. It’s hard owning and operating restaurants. I wish nothing but success!

The board states that a kid’s meal comes with-a sub, a fry and a drink for $7.65. The young lady ringing up didn’t realize a drink came with a kids meal. I said something and she took care of that part but I also wasn’t understanding why the screen said the kids meal was a different price or why she insisted on up charging me a $1 for the drink that says it is included in the $7.65? It appeared that there was a more senior employee on the grill right directly next to her however, she barely spoke to her as she’s listening to our whole conversation. Why didn’t she interject when she heard me ask why are you charging me for a drink that’s included? Why didn’t she interject when I asked why is the price of the kids meal this on your board out here, but yet you’re charging me something different? I don’t know why, maybe she just doesn’t care. I decided to let it go because the young lady was not understanding what the issue was. It’s all right. She was very polite. She was very kind. She seemed to handle conflict well as she gave me a tea instead of a Coke and we laughed that off. That was great. A little more training for this young lady and you’ll have a great employee. The lady that I spoke about previously on the grill was minimally conversational while I was waiting on the sub to be done, but kind nonetheless. I don’t know if this is lack of communication or what’s going on, but this is kind of crazy to me. So on top of charging me more than what the board says. She also charged me an extra dollar that is not disclosed anywhere. Come on place do better. I’ll just head to Charlie’s or Penn Station next time my kiddos like that better anyway.

Steak Escape is absolutely worth checking out.

I ordered the Ragin’ Cajun, and overall it was delicious. While it could’ve used a bit more heat—don’t expect it to truly live up to the “ragin’” name in the spice department—the flavor itself was spot-on and well balanced. (management said they were working on getting better peppers soon)

The real standout, though, was the bread. Made with semolina flour, it was hands-down the best sub bread I’ve had in a long time: perfectly textured, flavorful, and sturdy without being tough. It elevated the entire sandwich.

I’d seen older reviews mentioning skimpy portions, but that clearly isn’t the case anymore. My sub was packed with chicken, and every bite felt worth the money. It’s clear this place is making improvements and heading in the right direction.

All in all, Steak Escape feels like a restaurant on the up and up. If this is the direction they’re going, it’s only going to get better. Definitely keep your eye on this place—you’ll be glad you did.

Very good food, staff still learning the menu and what size the drinks are but given they literally just opened thats totally understandable. We are super excited about receipt day!

Food was amazing! I really really loved the sauce they use!

Good golly! I do sure love this place!!! I have been here several times over the course of almost 2 years, specifically on Saturdays: Tiny Tornado, Amazing Grace, The Real Deal, and Magic man, are all really great people and always meet my expectations, the magic man really knows how to work that grill! Saturdays are by far my favorite day to come down to Steak escape!

These guys care deeply and are doing amazing things in WESTERVILLE! The new selections of bread means that you can have a traditional Italian bun or a hot fresh sesame seed bun. The meat is fresh, the cheese is most ample, the toppings taste like they just came out of the garden, and somehow it all just comes together so hot and delightful. I even ordered them DoorDash delivery to my home in ZIP Code 43082 at Christmas, and my sandwich, and even more impressively, my loaded fries were piping hot, appetizing, and tasted like I was eating in the restaurant not receiving delivery. You could even tell that it was wrapped with much care and premeditation, as it was loaded with toppings but not messy when you opened it. Whoever is running this place, please keep up the great work. You obviously have a passion for steak hoagies, Philly steak subs, and your business at large. I think I just pumped myself up to order from you again tonight. Congratulations on your efforts and creating such a meticulous product!
