I went for breakfast. The restaurant is a decent size, good for a group. As soon as I sat down someone brought me water and offered coffee. My waitress was friendly. I had the ribeye steak, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes. I truly appreciated them cooking my hashbrowns just the way I asked. I didn’t realize they give you 4 eggs with the meal. Next time I’ll just ask for 2. The ribeye was tender, seasoned, and cooked the eat I wanted. Their pancakes are nice and fluffy.

My family and I always eat at Starlight whenever we’re in Chicago, especially for breakfast. For a large group, we are always seated without hardly waiting, orders are taken and food is served in a spontaneous manner.

I was really impressed by this restaurant. It took no time for me to be seated, and the food came out really fast. This is the first breakfast place, and I have been to, with the food came out too hot to eat. I have had breakfast in about 10 different states, and this rang very high among my experiences. The waitress was very nice, and she really set the table fast which I appreciated. I gave her a 20% tip, but feel like I should have tipped more.

The manager/ owner is rude as …. I ordered the southern shrimp and grits .The waitress told us that it was a popular dish. When she brought it to the table looked delicious. I proceeded to take a bite in it was flavorless. So I tired another bite. Omg I couldn’t eat anymore because it just was not good. I let my waitress know she said let me get the manager. He came over with attitude and said what’s the problem?vI said I am not happy with the flavor of the food. I don’t like it. He says well you looked at the menu didn’t you , so seen what you were getting? I said according to the menu, I would be getting a flavorful meal that I would enjoy. This guy went back-and-forth with me. It was unbelievable the attitude that he had !!! I’ve had plenty shrimp and grits dishes. His reply was we don’t make it like everyone else. Do you want it or not proceeded pick up the plate and my friend said don’t touch her food. He was very rude a dismissive never said , I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy your food. I’ve never been treated so bad from a manager. They usually ask you , how can we make it right? This man needs to retire immediately rudeness times 10 . He had an I don’t care attitude about me liking my food. Horrible horrible horrible Customer Service!! My friend literally had her mouth open because she couldn’t believe what she just witnessed. My waitress was Awesome. I gave her the great tip that she deserved because she should not be held accountable for the way her manager treated me! I will never patronize this restaurant again!!

Great food. Service was okay. Took a bit to get our menu and it wasn’t busy. Ordered eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns, as well as the cinnamon bun crepes. They charge extra for the sausage, so the bill was a bit high. And the hashbrowns are more like home fries and they aren’t shredded. The best part was the crepes…they were phenomenal. I would probably only come back for the crepes.

Just had the most horrible customer service experience at one of my favorite breakfast spots. The waitress clearly had a language barrier and put my order in wrong twice. 1st time, she I said no cheese and she thought that meant no cheese in my eggs but still in my skillet. No cheese means no cheese. Then on the next order she took the spinach out of the skillet. Then, I asked to speak with the manager who’s the owner and I let him know they just added barely cooked spinach and it was supposed to be sautéed. He says “And” with an attitude. I tell him to remove the item from the check because I don’t want it. While eating the toast, I was with my brother who was still eating. The waiter returns and says. “We removed the item but you have to pay for the toast.” Do not spend your money with this establishment. I couldn’t believe the owners demeanor towards me who’s a regular who’s not looking for free food. You can tell he’s use to treating his customers regard. A rude owner and terrible waitress.

I have been a regular customer for years with no complaints until today. I ordered diced ham and eggs. I did not get that. I called asking for a credit for the next time I came as I live 15 minutes away. I could not come back the same day for other reasons. The owner didn’t give a damn. I did tell him I won’t come back again and his response was “ok, fine” As this was my first time ever making a complaint I would have expected better. I have spent a lot of money at this restaurant but I won’t be treated like that.

This is one of my favorite places because I have an amazing waitress – Lupe. She knows my orders and she is very attentive. I only wanted bacon eggs and a blueberry waffle which was delicious. My husband git his usual meat lovers skillet and I stole a little as you see on my plate.
