Starfish Sushi has faced some exciting changes recently with new ownership. The new owner and Chef, John Lee, has a history of running successful Sushi Restaurants in the United States. Having learnt his craftsmanship from the hearts of Tokyo, his first restaurant was Nikko Sushi in 1989, in the Norther Suburbs of Chicago. After his success from his first restaurant, John has opened another restaurant in Batavia in the spring of 2004, named S.W.O.R.D.F.I.S.H., which was an expansion to a contemporary sushi and grill restaurant that delivers fine dining at its best. With these two success cases, John has opened his 3rd restaurant in Lincolnshire, where his success will continue and spread joy to all the Sushi lovers in the area.

I love this restaurant! The food was amazing. I haven’t had sushi this great since I was in Japan. Due to my job having me travel, I had to spend my birthday alone, and the owner and staff were so awesome and nice to me. Thank you again for your kindness. One of the best (if not THE best) sushi restaurants in the Chicagoland area. The sashimi was astonishingly fresh and melted on the tongue. It was paired exquisitely with customized sauces, and the presentation was gorgeous. The staff was also superb, kind, and attentive. This place is sure to impress for all occasions. Can’t recommend Starfish enough!

One of our favorite sushi restaurants and we haven’t had a chance to come here since pre-pandemic days! I had the vegetarian sushi combination entree, which included miso soup and a salad. All was wonderful, though I’d opt for the salad dressing on the side next time. My husband ordered his favorite – Maguro Truffle. Seared tuna sashimi with black truffle oil. It might be his favorite dish in the world!

She was punctual, attentive and brought a lot of energy which made our experience that much better. Sushi, Ramen and the dessert was amazing. Highly recommend.
