Walking into a Starbucks usually promises a certain level of efficiency and “third-place” comfort, but this recent visit was a textbook example of how poor management and a lack of situational awareness can ruin a routine coffee run.

The primary issue wasn’t the queue or the cleanliness, but the internal culture on display. The baristas and the floor manager were so deeply entrenched in their own personal conversations that the customer feel like an interruption to their social hour.

The staff continued their conversation while ringing up orders, leading to a feeling of being “processed” rather than served. Usually, a manager is there to steer the ship. In this case, the manager was the ringleader of the distractions, failing to redirect the team’s focus back to the mounting line of patrons.

The drink was lukewarm and lacked the balance of flavors I’ve come to expect. It was clear that the “customer service” element was lost because the hands involved were too busy gesturing to emphasize a story, to use a small amount of ice, instead of an entire scoop.they were too busy talking, that the manger herself wasn’t listening when I said it was going to be too much ice.

A coffee shop lives and dies by its service. While the beans are the same across the globe, the human element is what makes a local branch worth visiting. When the staff prioritizes their own social dynamics over the customer experience, you end up with a poor atmosphere and a mediocre cup of coffee.

This happened today and the day before yesterday. We stopped by this coffee shop. Both times no one was there at 4:00 pm. Figured okay it’s probably a lunch break, shoulda put something up saying that but figured they’d be back shortly. 30 minutes later no one showed up.
This happened twice in 3 days at the same exact store. This is absurd and the fact that other reviewers had the SAME thing happen to them? Makes this even worse. At this point I have to begin to wonder if management is to blame because a week after someone posted this it’s still happening? More than once in 3 days for us alone? Why would I ever consider going here again? Management can’t even fix the issue. Worst service I’ve experienced at a coffee shop ever. Ive literally never left a bad review in my life because I know how ridiculous customers can be, but this is ridiculous. The real problem? It’s not that no one is there. It’s that we have NO way to know if they’re even gonna ever come back before close. Mix that with them seemingly not coming back over 30 minutes later, and it validates those worries that much more. It takes less than a minute to right “on break, will be back” and they couldn’t even do that, and it’s clearly not a one time mistake. This is a habit that management will not deal with or can’t, either way, bad for the customer and a good way to push loyal customers away. I’m literally gonna drive an extra 30 minutes to get my coffee because going there and waiting that long now to not have anyone come back isn’t worth the wait.

Both times I went I was turned away once because the only batista was on break and the second because they decided to close 8 minutes before actual closing time. I wanted one single drink and couldn’t even get that!

My wife and I tried 2 times to stop at this location for a caramel frappe the first time the employee was on lunch so it was closed I can understand one person is working the store and they’re only human but we stopped by roughly 10 to 20 minutes before closing and she turned us away saying ” we’re closed” if it was an option I would give this place a zero for making my pregnant wife cry cause she wanted to close early

I was on my way to Seattle and wanted to get a coffee, so I stopped at this Starbucks inside Safeway. The cashier who was also a barista was careless and chatting with someone else, which made it take a long time to make my coffee. I had ordered a Grande Mocha. When I got my coffee and came to the car, I picked it up from the tray, only to find it was too light. Upon opening the lid, I noticed my cup wasn’t full; approximately 1/3 of it was empty.

Ordered the same drink we order at EVERY Starbucks. We knew instantly our drinks weren’t right but she tried telling us the strawberry cold foam doesn’t stay on top…. Weird because it does everywhere else! We also ordered latte, not a tea and she says yeah… that’s what they are normally is tea. Sure not! These were so bitter we couldn’t drink them. Note to management….whoever you had working 4/26/25 @4:30pm needs some serious training! She has no clue how to make your drinks or what the difference is between tea and latte!

My friend and I found the experience delightful in every respect. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The decor is simply beautiful. There’s plenty of seating, even for groups. Everyone treats you courteously.

I have been getting cold brew coffee here for a while and till recently it has been good.
Lately the product is so inconsistent that I don’t recommend getting coffee at this shop unless you know the worker and how they make your specific coffee.
The barista who last served me was not helpful or responsive to me.
