I’m fairly selective about which Starbucks locations I visit, as the quality of espresso can vary, and some locations consistently over-extract my drinks. The 184th and Evan’s location, however, is outstanding. They prepare my drink perfectly every time and consistently provide kind, efficient service.
This morning, an employee named Dawn provided truly exceptional customer service. She went out of her way to make me feel like a valued customer rather than just another transaction. She was also very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the Starbucks rewards system, which I genuinely appreciated as a frequent customer. Especially so early in the morning, her kindness, professionalism, and insight stood out and made the experience even better!

This is the second time I’ve gone to this Starbucks and asked for extra caramel drizzle in my drink and I did not get any caramel. Today when I went, I even repeated my order twice and still didn’t get any. Very disappointed.

I had placed a pickup order and went inside to retrieve it. There were three people waiting ahead of me, and I was fourth in line. Two of those individuals received their drinks, as well as a woman who was behind me. When it came time to take the next order, they asked the woman behind me for her name. However, instead of addressing me directly, an Asian American male employee asked another coworker to check on “the Black lady,” referring to me. I know exactly what I heard. Rather than referring to me by my race, he could have simply looked up and asked me for my name. It was rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. After receiving my drink, I asked the employee what I had been referred to. She hesitated and said that he had said “that lady,” but I am confident in what I heard. He referred to me as “the Black lady.”

The employees mocked me after I couldn’t find my Debit (a terrifying feeling), and I couldn’t figure out my Apple pay (hardly use it and the employee did not seek to help me AT ALL). “People will be lovers of themselves, proud, boastful, arrogant. Boy is that ever true. You NEVER KNOW what a person is dealing with. Maybe try some humility in the future Starbucks employees.

The employee was very nice to my daughters, we have never been given animal sticker pages. They were having a blast and showed the employees their cheeky creations!

I went through the drive thru. Got drink and saw it wasn’t made right. Label showed a wrong instruction. Parked and went inside. Explained problem to baristas. They gaslit me stating that drink was made the way I ordered it despite what the label said. I held the drink aloft to show that it was observably incorrect to no effect. I departed and later poured drink down the drain. Scratch this location from my stops…

I went through the drive through and wanted to order my chestnut praline but they were out. They recommended a different drink and was pleasantly pleased. Olivia also offered a sample of pistachio cold brew and it was fantastic. When I got my drink it was not iced , but Olivia apologized and quickly had my drink remade. All while being super sweet and had a smile the whole time. Definitely recommend this location to anyone who wants exceptional customer service.
