This Starbucks runs like a well-oiled machine! The entire crew is incredibly efficient and friendly, even during the heavy morning rush. I’m always greeted with a smile, whether I’m dining in or at the drive-thru window. Unlike some other locations I’ve visited, the Springs Rd Starbucks in Hickory is remarkably consistent with drink quality. I also highly value their perfect 100 sanitation score—it shows a level of care I always look for. Kudos to the manager and her team; it’s clear she has gone above and beyond to cultivate such high energy and professionalism. This location truly sets the standard!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been driving over 8 miles one way every single day just to get a cup of coffee while my kitchen is being overhauled. And honestly? I look forward to that drive — not because of the coffee alone, but because of the people at this location.
In such a short amount of time, the staff not only remembered my name, but also my regular order. The consistency is always there, but what truly stands out is the warmth. The genuine smiles. The way I’m greeted every time like I matter — not like I’m just another transaction passing through.
No matter the day or the shift, regardless of how busy it is (and they are busy), every employee takes a moment to acknowledge me, ask how I’m doing, and make me feel welcome. I can see how hard they work. I can see when they’re tired. Yet they still choose kindness, conversation, and care. That says everything about the people here.
It’s gotten to the point where I almost wish my kitchen renovation would take longer — just so I’d have a reason to keep coming here every day.
I’ve seen some negative reviews complaining about speed or small inconveniences, and I truly don’t think they’re fair. I remember Christmas time — when this was one of the only places open — and even then, the staff showed up with smiles and grace. That kind of dedication deserves appreciation, not criticism.
This team goes above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you for the coffee, yes — but more importantly, thank you for the humanity. You’ve made my mornings better in ways you probably don’t even realize.

My go to Starbucks!!!! I’m constantly here and going through the drive thru and there are some of the sweetest people there who definitely know how to brighten someone’s day. My coffee is always made exactly how I want it and not only great drinks but amazing people as well. This is definitely one of the best starbucks in the district. Strongly recommend!!

Consistently the worst Starbucks I’ve ever been to. They must not be using the proper recipes because the drinks always taste so much watered down or not at all like they taste at every other Starbucks. I have had several bad customer service experiences here where they give me a random drink and argue with me about what I ordered. If you’re looking for good coffee on this side of town this is not the place.

Mistakenly ordered a drink and forgot to ask for hot coffee instead of iced. Tried to order a new hot version, but disappointedly, I was told by the barista that it couldn’t be modified to a hot coffee, despite having been able to enjoy it at other locations. I tried the drink and it was delicious but not quite what I was hoping for. Also, most of the pastries were sold out.

This is an enjoyable Starbucks location. Joey and his team are great! Very friendly and helpful. I haven’t have a less than positive experience here.
The batista’s do an excellent job keeping the different drinks consistent.

My most favorite Starbucks, not just for the coffee, but the staff, they always make my day no matter how crazy or sad my life is, they never fail to help me leave the drive through with the biggest smile, as a former assistant store manager for a coffee shop, I can just see how terrific this management is.. I will never love a location more than this one, and they all deserve a raise, I don’t know his name, but he is a tall guy with red hair, he’s so sweet! And thank you to whoever writes on my cups and makes me grin!

Be careful if you have allergies! This store is so unreliable. I order an impossible breakfast sandwich, and it’s not unusual to get a regular sausage sandwich. I always order almond milk, no whip, but I end up with stomach pain bc they use regular dairy. It’s not always this way, but it depends on who’s working. This store is the Dunkin of Starbucks. Always check your order before driving off. The staff is kind overall. It’s the nearest location to my work, only 3 mins away, but I’ll be driving to the next closest location moving forward or just go to Dunkin in the opposite direction on the same road. They’re cheaper and don’t ever get it right either. I’ve tried numerous times to give this store a chance but for the price im paying, I’d like to not end up with an upset belly the rest of the day bc they don’t care to use the milk substitute I pay for. Again, the staff is super kind. They just don’t get it right every time. Sometimes, they do. Today, they “re-made” my drink, but I’m sure that’s the whip cream they had put on the original drink they handed me. Some people are not just picky or trying to be trendy but actually have health reasons to substitute some items. It’s a shame they don’t care. It’s a shame this medium drink is $7 and I can’t even drink it.
