I don’t know whether this is due to internal Starbucks guidelines or specific instructions from the manager at this location, but I’ve started to question the way the staff work here. In the past, Starbucks baristas and employees always gave off a bright, positive energy and felt like a team working together. Lately, however, I’ve noticed a similar shift not only at this location but at many other Starbucks stores as well—the atmosphere feels noticeably different.

Not long ago, I stopped by because I wanted a coffee and walked straight into Starbucks to place an order. The café was not particularly busy, and I recall only about five or six customers sitting inside. Two baristas were working at the espresso machine, likely handling a large number of mobile orders and making drinks nonstop. Another staff member appeared to be in charge of pastries and was working near the oven. The remaining employee was behind the counter, holding a broom and dustpan, cleaning.

I stood at the counter for almost five minutes, yet no one greeted me or acknowledged my presence, not even to ask me to wait for a moment. Everyone was focused solely on their own tasks. One of the baristas made eye contact with me but did not ask me to wait or call over another staff member. The employee handling pastries clearly saw me as well, but turned back to continue their work. The staff member who was cleaning swept up something and then walked into the back kitchen area, not returning for quite some time—despite clearly noticing that I had approached the counter.

After waiting for more than five minutes, I finally ordered a grande Pike and left.

From this experience alone, the way this store operates feels highly inefficient, and the attitude toward customers was extremely disappointing. The positive, team-oriented atmosphere I mentioned earlier was completely absent. I understand that each staff member has assigned responsibilities, and those tasks are important. However, I believe there needs to be better training that prioritizes acknowledging and assisting customers first.

I hope Starbucks can once again become a place where I leave feeling good, holding a cup of coffee I enjoy, rather than a café that leaves me feeling frustrated every time I visit.

I placed my order around 6:40 AM, and the app said it would be ready by 6:50. I arrived at 6:55, but the order still wasn’t ready and there were only about two people ahead of me.

Because of the delay, I had to cancel half of my order. Even after I clearly asked for the remaining item to be canceled, they still started preparing it. One employee, who had been standing near the register the whole time, not doing much, began making the item after we had already requested cancellation.

Overall, the experience was frustrating and poorly handled.

I ordered a shaken espresso with light ice and the barista told me I can’t ask for less ice in that particular drink. When I asked if I could pay extra for more oat milk he said he didn’t know how to do that.

I just told him no worries I’ll take it as to avoid any confusion. I then take 4 sips of my drink and it was finished. The drink was crammed with ice. For 6.50 for a tall I was really upset. I would expect a better experience. Starbucks elsewhere is generally very accommodating.

I often take coffee from this place. But this specific Starbucks worker was very rude. He was a bit racist and should definitely be given some ethical training. His name is Jim and I would recommend not to get coffee from this person. @starbucks you better train your employees for good customer service. When simply asked to remove ice, he was rude and talked as if I have asked his heart out.

If I had the opportunity to put 0 stars I would definitely do it! Disgusting customer service! Instead of proposing a substitute of the topping they didn’t have for my drink, I got terrible attitude in response like it’s my fault . There was not enough ice at all. No foam how it should be! This was my first and last time here!
The management should pay attention to all of the reviews! There are a lot of 1 star reviews below and seems like management ignores that and doesn’t change anything. Good job!

Starbucks is clean and not crowded, went on a Saturday 5pm. Drinks are made well, tables are clean and many available. People can bring pets inside the store

I like this Starbucks a lot, and the area is really nice. It is also a transit hub though, so there are some homeless people around, and they are usually harmless. They employees are always really friendly, and it’s a good place to go if you need to do some work or are waiting on your commute via the PATH.

Paid extra for 7 scoops of matcha powder in my cold foam, but they gave me a plain one and brushed me off. Only after I insisted did they remake it, the color difference was huge. If you don’t speak up, they’ll just ignore what you paid for. Staff were cold and dismissive.

The morning staff is friendly and helpful but they gave me a ham panini when I grabbed a veggie one from the display.

The almond croissant is sooooooooo good!!! Easy pickup too since they have separate mobile order pickup / ordering lines. I got it warmed up too and I’m pretty sure that made it taste even better.
