Starbucks has always handed out pup cups as a courtesy, so this felt less like a “policy” and more like a power trip. Wasting customers’ time over something that costs you next to nothing is beyond irritating.
Walked next door to Dunkin’ and they gave me a pup cup instantly, no purchase, no attitude, just basic customer service.
The Do better, because this is how you lose customers over whipped cream.
Establishments…with all honesty, kindness and constructive criticism…if you are going to hire staff…especially young kids, please please train them closely with good guidance on how to professionally and maturely handle a series of encounters.
While in the drive thru, one of our drinks was missing items we asked for, so we kindly informed staff that everything was perfect we were just missing ‘x ,y & z’ on this particular drink…you would have thought the situation went entirely different but I kid you not, it didn’t.
The first young girl with twisted locks in her hair told us that we didn’t order ‘x, y & x’ at the speaker & that’s all she kept repeating. We kindly explained how we truly did ask for these things. We even reiterated what we were looking to get. She shut the door immediately on us and looked like she was going to cry and never came back to the window. We were so very confused! I thought maybe she was stressed bc of the line behind us, but she could’ve at least said something. It was very awkward.
Afterwards, a young girl with pink hair & glasses came to the window and she was very very RUDE. You would’ve thought we were unkind with the manner that this girl was speaking to us. She accused us of not requesting items at the speaker, lying & claimed we tried to basically steal $0.75 cent whip cream & Carmel drizzle when we already spent almost $40 on 4 small drinks (not even larges). I ended the conversation by informing the young girl that my car camera was still recording and that we don’t ever mind paying for the things we are reasonably asking for…and will pay for the extra $0.75 right now…especially when we asked for them at the speaker and were kind and calm about it. I didn’t think her attitude and words were worth whip cream and carmel….it was ridiculous. She too shut the window and we could see her bad mouthing us with all the other teenagers looking at her crazy and asking what happened.
Long story short these young girls created an issue over something so very silly…please train younger staff on how to have better social skills and professionalism. (In fact the entire staff were teenagers. Not all teenagers are like this, but this younger generation is getting out of control, OVERLY sensitive & have very poor manners! They can be so rude for no reason. This is coming from someone slowly approaching my 30s) All that unnecessary and awkward drama after a long day of work…I should’ve kept my money and made coffee at home.
