This place knows what it does well, and it blows expectations out of the water. All of the food is incredibly fresh, and the pimento cheese oysters are some of the best special oysters i have ever had. Something worth checking out for sure! Jesse was our waitress and was super friendly and real! We enjoyed sitting with her for a couple hours as we enjoyed our experience here! Not only Jesse too, the other wait staff was very personable and friendly too! It’s very clean in here and the food was impeccable! Usually crab legs at most places don’t have flavor however here they’re are packed with it! We got the seafood boil for two! They have nice appetizer options too like corn riblets as well! They have a rotating draft beer selection and good drink options with a full bar! The food hit the spot and the staff was attentive throughout as we enjoyed it! Very great experience here and we will be back for sure! Definitely come check out this hidden jewel of a spot in Hickory! Thank you

First time visiting. Our server, Ashley was very friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular. We tried several different items. The Oyster Rockefeller and the lobster sliders were the standouts. Also had some half shell and the tacos that were great too. We decided this was our Valentines dinner even if it was 4 days early…not at all a bad decision!

This was my first time eating from here. We wanted some hot crab dip. We ordered the crab dip and corn riblets to go. The crab dip was delicious, but the pita chips were too burnt to eat. I initially thought they were covered with some type of seasoning, but I was wrong. Why would anyone serve this???

First time here and we had a great experience! We were greeted promptly and seated immediately. Service is top notch here. We ordered several dish’s of oysters and all of them were delicious! Lots of different types of oysters to pick from. Full bar w/ lots of beer choices. There are no tables. It is an oyster bar. The atmosphere is nice and clean. I can’t wait to go back. This place is managed very well. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

We visited Standard Oyster during restaurant week. It’s likely not a restaurant we would have tried due to not having had oysters before but I’m so glad we decided to try it out. From beginning to end it was a fantastic experience. All the food, our drinks and the service was top notch. The seafood is super fresh and delicious. The cocktails were so good. We even tried a few oysters and they were great. The in-house vinaigrette paired with the oysters really well. Our server was Sherri and she was funny, helpful and made our experience really enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
